  • I think I was more shocked at her teeth! We get free dental work while pregnant and after the baby is born so why have teeth like that? No offence to anyone intended! Husband came in the room and was like "flaming hell..." and I was like "yeah I know" he didnt even have to explain what he meant lol.
I was also shocked at the baby's dad saying baby had yellow nails because they smoke! I didnt know that kind of thing happened!

I must admit it never occured to me that your baby would smell when born, because I never thought about it, but now, thinking about it, it must do. Bubs has been inside a watery bubble for 9 months, no air, so they aren't going to pop out smelling like baby powder are they :rotfl:
Mean to say it though. Your first words to your new born. I think most mothers just accept it, and anyway, you're surely more caught up admiring your newborn?

She had such disgusting teeth, and her mum wasn't much better. Absolutely disgusting, and she must have smelly breath. Urgh.

I am going to go to bed now as left hip realllly achy. Not that it will be much better in bed, but will lie on right hand side. Bubs loves it when I lie on that side, he always goes mental. Well, he is at the moment as well.

    Night all xxx

I thought you were talking about the teeth that's why I said  at only 20, DH said how did she find someone to impregnate her with those teeth:rotfl:.
I didn't notice DD having a smell and it's the kind of thing I'd notice

  • I'd just like - just once - for him to say "x is going to babysit on saturday so i can take you out for a meal" OR "i saw these flowers on the way home so bught them for you".... but no not ONCE in our 4 years together has this EVER happened!!! and the last time i mentioned it........ I got the following response "what's the point - you'd only throw it in my face for wasting money!"

Hugs. It is like puppy training, you need to use short, simple commands and bags of praise. Can you ring up the bank and cancel his cashpoint card and then blame it on the crap bank? Might cramp his style a bit.
As for smoking, does he know about the link with SIDS? He is acting like a big baby, which is exactly how my ex behaved when DD1 was born. Hugs, hugs, hugs. Maybe its time not to have a joint account?
I don't have one with DH.

GFH that doggie is gorgeous, I want a cuddle.

Thankyou and thanks to the other people who gave her compliments.
ohhh and apparrently his boss is being snotty about his paternity leave and saying they want a signed letter from mat hosp saying they are inducing me and the date as my MATB1 says 1st may - we have tried to tell them it makes no difference as i could go into premeture labour at any time but apparently that "would be different". anyways todays midwife basically laughed in our face when i told her and didn't do one so gonna have to ask my lovely community m/w when i see her wednesday.

    As for this...

    Taking your Ordinary Paternity Leave

To qualify for Ordinary Paternity Leave, you must tell your employer:
    • when the baby is due or when the child is expected to be placed with you for adoption
    • whether you want one or two weeks' Ordinary Paternity Leave
    • when you want your Ordinary Paternity Leave to start
You must give your employer the correct amount of notice. You should tell them in writing either:
    • at least 15 weeks before the beginning of the week when the baby's due
    • within seven days of being told by the adoption agency that you have been matched with a child
A simple way to give notice is to fill in a 'self-certificate'. You can download form SC3 'Becoming a parent', which works as a self-certificate.
Your Ordinary Paternity Leave can start on any day of the week (but not before the baby is born). It has to finish within 56 days of the baby's birth. If the baby is born before the week it was due, it must finish within 56 days of the first day of that week. You can start Ordinary Paternity Leave after a period of parental leave has ended.
If your partner has a multiple birth, you are only allowed one period of Ordinary Paternity Leave.
You should tell your employer the date of the birth or actual date of adoption placement in writing if your employer requests it. However, you do not have to give your employer any medical evidence of the pregnancy or birth to claim Ordinary Paternity Leave or Pay.

This is helpful GFH - one thing I've been wondering though is what OHs do if baby is overdue? Surely they notify with EDD and it appears the above says it must start on that date?

And I'd love to comment on your beautiful puppy, but the internet police won't let me see the photo...... :(

    xDx
