  • DP - Sorry you've lost one of your squeakers.

Been feverishly googling and I'm confident that it's correct that pregnancies reaching 32 weeks have a 94.9% chance of resulting in a live birth phew! that 85% freaked me out a bit.

    Bloody men!

I'm sat here full of cold, feeling like poo, moaning about my back and everything else and DH pipes up......"any chance of a quickie tonight?":mad::mad::mad:

My head could be hanging off and he'd still chance it, cheeky sod, won't even repeat my response! ;)

Edit: Off to watch Serial Killer Sunday LOL

Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x
  • sharkey - that's terrible that the midwife overlooked it. A complaint would definitely be in order, if it were me in your shoes.

digital - I'm so sorry to hear about Max. It honestly brought tears to my eyes. I definitely agree that pets are a part of the family.

I heard the news about Amanda Holden. Can't imagine what she's going through. :(

Hi everyone, have been away for the weekend and not caught up so hugs, labour vibes and sticky vibes where required!

I think my belly has finally popped out - it seems really rounded and hard now (although I showed my cousin and she just said it looked fat

:(Horrid news about Amanda Holden - haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

They don't swab here either in routine, I had a cervix check at week 28 and I asked the doc to do a swab 'while he was up there' as it were. Thankfully came back all clear but I wouldn't even know about strep b if it wasn't for this thread. Hadn't been mentioned to me once throughout.
  • Sharkey, just wanted to say try not to worry too much about the strep b. easier said than done i know!!! when i was in labour with ds1, they took a swab and it came back (about 6 hours after he was born!!) as positive for strep b-all they did was keep him on close obs to monitor for any signs of infection etc with ds2, as ds1 had no probs with it, they didn't feel the need to test me or give me antibiotics in labour, and also kept him on close obs.
from what i understand anyway, it's something you don't always have, so you could have a swab at 36 weeks that comes back negative, but at 40 weeks you could have it and vice versa, which is why they don't always do a swab ( this is what was explained to me anyway lol) At least now at least you should get a swab and baby can be closely monitored after birth xx
