Sammy, I went to see kings speech on weds. Was really good but I think I was expecting more through all the hype.

Is your nursery nearly done then? We were so close til OH came to put the cot up and realised there's loads of bolts missing (we got it off eBay in October :(). It's a m+p one tho so we'll go in next weekend and hope they have some spare.

Sharkey.....I can't believe they did that. Make sure you put the complaint it. Theres no excuse for missing something so crucial.

I've been trying to shake the Amanda Holden news all day. She was the same far along as me. Truly awful awful news :(

RBG....your baby shower sounds fab. Glad you had a good day.

Sorry to hear about all the poorly animals.

Congrats OTE. we have a nephew Wesley and he's a cheeky one. Lovely name.
Labour vibes to the bolded ladies. :)

Thanks to the ladies who wished Max well. Unfortunately he died today :(

We don't know why. He went out in his outdoor run fine yesterday morning, and it was only in the evening OH noticed he was a bit off colour. He was a long haired and usually so warm, but last night not his usual self and thinner than normal. I had noticed him and his wife had left some of their dry and fresh food, but all our piggies go through phases of being fussy and leaving some food (we had six pigs, three pairs), probably as we do spoil them with a good selection of veg :o We checked him this morning and he had got an awful lot worse over night, just not bothered about anything and obviously very poorly. Went off to do some jobs and do our weekly clean of the fish tanks, I also repotted some plants I had meant to do for ages. Had some lunch. Then went out to finish off cleaning their bowls (they had all their hutches cleaned out today, same as every week), and thought I'd check on him. He had passed on :A
My eyes are so sore from crying, I just can't believe he has gone so suddenly and for no apparent reason :(

Max was one of our rescue guinea pigs from the R.S.P.C.A. He had been kept on his own all his short life, which for anyone who knows about piggies, would know it's cruel as they are social animals. He hadn't had any handling either. We got him to go with my original two, but they decided they didn't like him. So we ended up getting him a separate cage and run, along with a 'wife', who we rescued from a woman who was over run with piggies and who couldn't look after them. She has always been very nervous as she wasn't handled when young, but Max and her got on from the start :( Our other two, we rehomed after seeing an advert in the pet shop, as they were looking for a new home after their owner couldn't look after them anymore.
He has had a good life, in a 6ft long run and hutch outside and a good sized indoor hutch in winter. We devote our whole shed to the piggies in the winter to make sure they stay snug and dry. Our garden is massive and he has always had a varied diet, and plenty of love. I just feel sick that he has gone too soon, he wasn't old.

    R.I.P Max :A

Sorry for not replying to other posts, too upset tonight. Our pets are very much a part of our family :(

RIP to max the piggy. I can sympathise with how you feel I would be devastated if it was my little kitty-cat.
