Afternoon ladies and bumps! It's been at least a month since I last posted so you'll all have to bear with me whilst I try and catch up!

Welcome to the new ladies and congrats to the new mummies! It's all so exciting, I have less than 6 weeks until my due date and it's all becoming slightly too real now!

Well the reason I haven't posted on here for ages is that there's been a lot going on for my family, my dad had a kidney transplant just over 4 weeks ago, he's doing really well but it's been a stressful and emotionally tiring month. Me and bump are still plodding along, it was hard being 30 weeks pregnant and going to the hospital everyday to visit dad especially as it was an hour away and I'm still working full time but he's now home which is 2 minutes away from my house so it's much easier to see him now.

Went to my first ante natal class last night and really enjoyed it, think it was a bit of an eye opener for the other half because when we were walking out he went to me "Did you know about the mucus plug thingy?!":rotfl:I think he was slightly disgusted but strangely fascinated...

Is anyone else suffering really badly from swollen ankles? Mine are terrible and my hand (especially my fingers) are painful aswell. Oh the joys of pregnancy...

you are due the day before me, I know what you mean about freaking out :rotfl:

sorry to hear about your Dad, it's awful when parents are poorly isn't it? Glad to hear he is getting better.

:rotfl:at your OH - mine is exactly the same. the word 'mucus' turns his stomach, literally makes him wretch - I'm wondering if I should chase him round the house with mine when it appears  (i'm a cruel OH)

I hear you on the sore hands too, I have developed carpal tunnel. Not as bad as some of the ladies on here but for the first 30mins in the morning I cannot do anything til the pain eases :(

Good to see you anyway Alfalfa - I was wondering how my bump buddy was getting on :)

Ooh so you're 34 weeks today then? Congrats! Are you all organised for the baby?

Yep, midwife said I had carpal tunnel too, it's not too severe and I only really get it badly on a night. My fingers sort of throb the rest of the time but it's not unbearable. Last time I went to the midwife I came away feeling a bit deflated, I went in feeling rather good and by the time I came out I'd been told I had protein in my wee indicating a kidney infection (gone now), my bump was a bit on the small side, I had carpal tunnel and my blood pressure was quite low. She said all these things were nothing to worry about but it didn't stop me feeling like I hadn't been taking care of myself properly. Probably just me being overly sensitive though!

Finished my last day at work:(
The hall was full of children and they all made a fuss of me and all said thanks and wished me well giving me gifts and a card, it was so sweet. The i had a year 4 child come and ask me to go to their class, i had to sit on the special chair whilst they all sung thank you to me and gave me a lovely card and chocs. Was holding in the tears. Going to miss them all.
I had a sweet year 1 child ask me if i would please come back to work when the baby was born, and another one who said " i'm really sad you're leaving, i liked you", made me lol. Kids say the funniest things.

Off out tonight with the teachers on the end of term do, looking forward to a night out, but could quite happily stay at home and go to bed:o

DD2 is still suffering from some kind of sickness bug, it mustn't have got out of her system as she's been fine since tuesday, but everything came back up yesterday and through the night.

Anyway, where's the birth announcements? I'm sure we are due a few.
I had a really strong BH earlier, think my mum thought i was going into labour, i said i don't think this baby is going to be early, he'll be late like the others, so still a few weeks to go:)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: at the idea I may have to try the same on my OH, he would be similarly disgusted :D

Yes I think we are more or less organised. Just a few final bits to get. I'm awaiting a lump of stuff off my friend (moses basket, bouncer, playmat etc) not sure how many times I can keep reminding her though :o.

Bad news about the MW, at least all nothing too serious. And these things happen no matter how well you look after yourself.

This Carpal Tunnel is a b1tch though isn't it
  • Afternoon ladies

I'm so bored and fed up today. Starting to feel really down being stuck at home with this stupid SPD. Kids are on half term next week and I feel awful that we'll be stuck inside. Still no sign of physio appointment either, and only got one more week left of my sick note. I'm not going back to work though until I've seen the physio and got the support belt at least.

    Just really fed up :(

  • Hi Ladies,

Labour vibes and dodgy hugs to everyone who needs them:kisses:

Hope no one minds me lurking over here, we are 10+2 today, and OH and i have a week off next week to rest and relax so im really looking forward to that!

MS is still present but seems to be easing and im better at working out what i can do to stop it now (mainly not being too hot as that seems to make the sicky feeling actual sickness)

Apetite is huge at the moment and im really trying to go for good snacks rather than bad ones.

OH and i are discussing birth at the moment, it seems so long away but i know it will be here before i know it and since we are both planners talking about it and understanding as much as we can about the process will pay off for us in the long run :) I hope lol

Not showing yet, although i am a little chunkier but no one has said anything (i used to be very big and have lost a lot of weight over the years slowly and sensibly so unless i complain about being fat no one really says anything as the see how much i have lost if that makes sense)

Is anyone else changing their minds every 5 minutes about names? We have 2 solid names we love, one for each, but we keep talking each other out of them and then back into them again lol.

I know that there is a long way to go yet but its one way we stay positve and its mse friendly becuase its keeping us out of the baby stores.

We are very lucky and are having a lot of stuff second hand, a full mamas and pappas pram, car seat and moses basket stand just to mention 1 bit!!!

OH is worried that having 2nd hand stuff will make me want to spend more on bean when they are here but i've pointed out that even if i do it will be mse and we have the spare pennies at the moment from our bean set up savings :)

Sorry, ive gone on way longer than i should have!

Please can i be added to the list? EDD 14th September

    Thank you

Dont know what SPD is but hope you are able to see the physio soon!

Is there anyway the kids will be able to play in the garden or a park nearby to give you a rest at half term?
