I don't need too, as the road traffic act does not apply on private land

    Ignorance is bliss.

Read them all fully again, as well as any associated legislation.

And how can you ensure wrong advice is not given? You don't appear to even know the difference between a penalty charge and a civil charge. So how can you be an authority on this when you have no idea what you are talking about ?

Yes I do know the difference. But that is not the issue here, as the OP never stated what the wording was.

It was you who just decided you knew the wording.

By the way "abandoned" can be taken in different contexts. It can simply mean that someone has walked away from the vehicle.

Where did I say I knew the wording ? And as the OP is from 2 years ago its hardly relevant now as pofa 2012 has come into effect. But there have been plenty of other threads concerning Luton Airport and the fact that this is a civil matter.

No ignorance is not bliss, but I concede I have got it wrong on the road traffic act as certain elements could be on private land. But then it comes back to lawful authority, only the police have this at Luton Airport, because the byelaws of this does not cover it. As been posted previously.

Also as I said if I get it wrong I hold up my hands and admit it, unlike yourself who obviously never get anything wrong

We wouldn't be having this conversation if you didn't think you knew the wording.

The legislation indicates that there is a possibility that due to it being an airport, as well as the control the police have over the area for security reasons, that it isn't a civil matter.

Don't be ridiculous, that is not considered abandoned, otherwise everyone who parks a vehicle anywhere could have abondoned it. You really need to read some of the links you post up

The wording is a parking company's sign claiming breach of contract. And the police have lawful authority, that has been said all the way through this thread. They have lawful authority throughout the land, not just airports.

You have been arguing the point that private parking companies basically have this authority, to which you are wrong! And that a private company is towing vehicles away has authority, but under pofa 2012 they don't !

If the police gets a vehicle towed, or give a fpn then that is considered action under authority.

What, just because I won't be bullied in a forum?
    No.
Because of the nonsense you post.

    I bet you're a joy in meetings.

There is no humour in this thread, just a load of people on a crusade with blinkers on.

And now it seems some have lowered themselves to being abusive.
I think you started that if you look back!
You seem to miss the fact that I don't want people to be conned into paying fake fines either. I just want to make sure they aren't given wrong advice, which could end up costly for them.

As I said before if you hadn't steamed in with your usual "I know best, everyone needs to listen to me, I am the fount of all knowledge" attitude you may have promoted some reasonable debate.
But no, your big headed I am a big man at the airport attitude has just made you a laughing stock.
Sorry about the comment about humour, I should have realised you wouldn't know what that is either!
