...if campaigners keep telling people that they can park in security sensitive areas at airports, because they can't do anything about it, then believe me, things will change.

No-one has told people any such thing. We do not give that sort of daft advice! We KNOW this Airport from previous posts, and we know these invoices are just a private scam. So we tell people to ignore or appeal the 'fake PCN' but we NEVER tell people they can park where they are not allowed or welcome, and certainly not in sensitive places at Airports! You seem to have misunderstood our stance?

After all they don't like the fact that a terrorist could park a car bomb 30ft from aircraft.

    We know that.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Besides everything , do you think a terrorist would be worried about parking charge notices ? Or double yellow lines? This is not about safety this is about money. If they were worried about a terrorism act so much they would either remove the aircraft from the vicinity or remove the road.

This company like all of them are there to make money by their illegal penalties, they are actually acting illegally by towing on private land without lawful authority, they claim bylaws apply but they don't as its not covered there.

We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

It would help if you checked your basic facts then!

Don't you know what 'playing devils advocate' means??

I didn't say I know the facts, but I did suggest that people find out the facts before they just ignore any demands.

Nobody here is telling anyone to park in any "sensitive" area - In fact we always advise full compliance with all reasonable directions/charges/landowners conditions.

Its the illegal and unenforcable penalites and the deliberate misdirection/harrassment of the PPCs and their ilk that have the strongest objection. Security and rip-off parking enforcement are two different things altogether.

By telling people that the fines are illegal, and to ignore them, you are giving people the green light to park in those security sensitive areas.

There are too many people in forums who give wrong advice. All I am saying is that people should find out for sure if the laws are different when it comes to airports.

And it is also very pertinent to note that not one person who has posted here about this airport or in the many other Luton threads over the years has ever suffered any sanction beyond threatening contract-based letters demanding money - Which says it all I think?

That doesn't mean they haven't. It may mean that most people obey parking rules on airports, with the knowledge that they may be jumped on by a police officer with a big gun.

There is no bylaw covering this, it's a scam with all money going to a money making scam company. They don't give a toss about security all they are interested is the money they make by the infestation of the airport. The airport is only interested in their cut of the money they get. This purely and only a money making scam.

I'm no lawyers, but then you obviously aren't either. As far as I understand bylaws are local laws, so one that applied to airports probably wouldn't be a local law.

To say that they aren't interested in security is completely ridiculous. Anyone who works at an airport has to follow very strict rules on security. And any employee or contractor who doesn't carry out their responsibilities under those rules will lose their contract and be kicked off the airport.

The airport is a business, and exists to make money. What is more important to them than fining the odd individual who choses not to obey the parking rules, is the smooth running of the airport. One car parking on the bus lane could not only delay passengers getting to the airport, but could also trigger a security alert, causing more disruption.

By telling people that the fines are fake, and that people can just ignore them, is taking away something that puts people off parking there in the first place.

Yes - you need to have a viable alternative viewpoint/argument. Which is something you don't have, for reasons already explained and repeated.

    No, not at all!

We are well aware of the slightly different sotuations that can apply at some airports, docks, stations etc, so why not go and pitch-up on the threads discussing them instead of trolling this one? Because they clearly do not apply here!

So are you seriously advocating that its OK for a company to openly con people?

    Enough!

Hello Jamie Carter, there comes a point in everyones life when they learn that something they once beleived to be true, is actualy false.
Some people beleive that Santa clause/Father Christmas visits them on Christas eve and brings presents under the tree.
Some beleive that the tooth fairy leaves some money for them under their pillow when their teeth fall out, and the adult teeth start to push through.
Some people beleive that private companies can issue fines and penalties, especuialy when it comes to matters of driving a vehicle and parking.
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

    .

Really? so that is a big conclusion by you, so if we say appeal penalty charge notices, do we endorse people parking without paying?

Not at all. I'm saying that people should stop giving out generic advice when the truth is that they just don't know for sure, they are just assuming.

If a lawyer who has expert knowledge in this field were to come on this thread, then people would be far safer accepting their advice. However all of these parking threads are full of armchair experts who just tell everyone "don't pay, just ignore it, it's illegal", when they don't consider that in certain circumstances they may be wrong.
