If already booked I'd hang on to see how things pan out. If not already booked I'd give it a wide berth for a month then check the situation.

Was it Sharm that President Mubarak (sp?) was reported to be hiding or going to be hiding? Do a google and see what you can find out.

    My thoughts exactly.

If I had already booked and paid for a holiday then I would quite happily go ....... otherwise I simply would not consider a holiday in Egypt.

If Id booked Id go but I wouldn't decide now to go.
  • If I had already booked, then I would go, unless fo advised against. But I wouldnt book to go now. Looks like the situation is going to get a lot worse, and the protests seem to be getting more violent.

Why would you book now knowing about the all trouble?? It might not be in Sharm now - but who knows what could happen. Go somewhere else where you won't be worrying - the world is a big place!! Not worth saving a few quid really is it??

Its not really about saving a few £ its more about going somewhere with the best weather this time of year & not a million miles away. The people that have just come back have said no isues at all so why wouldnt i want to go

We are going on the 22nd with 3 kids and last week I had thought there was no way we would be going. However if it stays stable (ish) until then we will go. Even at the worst of the violence in cairo there was nothing at all in sharm. I also would not be choosing to book there at present. We did have the choice of our money back but nowhere else would give us 5* AI for what we paid.
  • No, not even if the troubles hadnt started

We returned from Hurghada last Friday. We had a lovely holiday and we only knew about the troubles from watching BBCWorld.

I agree with previous posters. If I had a trip booked and the Foreign Office were not advising against travel, I would go.
