  • I need to have a no spend week so apart from possibly needing a few spuds & milk/fruit we should be set for the week

    Friday: Toad in the hole
Saturday: Hopefully my parents will feed us

I really need to go through my freezer to see what is lurking. It has been a few months since I have done it.

    Hi All

I'm impressed with you all sticking to your meal plans - I tried it and failed miserably!

I've got a very carnivorous, very fussy, body-building 19yo son - who also won't eat left overs  Drives me mad! I can make something one week and he loves it, but the next time I make it he says he doesn't like it/has gone off it GRRRR:mad:

    !

Hi, Im 19 too why not tell your son if he doesnt want the food you provide then he has to pay for and make his own?

    I second this approach!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

    Hello folks,

Sunday is HM Lasagne, and I am looking for a recipe for a pear tart type thing as I have puff pastry needing used and plenty pears going past their best.
    Monday: Fish Pie
Tuesday: Roast Chicken (this will make soup too for lunches and some meats for sandwiches)
    Wednesday: Macaroni cheese
Thursday : Sausage, bacon, egg, blackpudding,
    Friday: cottage pie

Baking today will be Scones, madeira loaf, gingerbread and rock buns - most will go in the freezer and be used later in the week for lunchboxes. If I have time I will make some pancakes as DGS loves these. I am also away to make yogurt as I have started having yogurt at breaktime at work so this will save a bit too. BM is on with wholemeal mix in it -things are looking well organised for a change!

  • Another week!

    Sat - mushroom risotto
    Sun - pizza and chips
Mon - oriental noodles with broccoli and carrots - DD out early and I'm out late
    Tues - vegetable tagine
    Weds - lenten bake
Thurs - roast butternut squash in the hole with onion gravy and potato and neep mash.
    Fri - vegetable korma.

Breakfasts - mostly porridge, boiled eggs one day. This week we also had scrambled eggs on toast one day and this morning, sausages, beans and mushrooms which was really nice so that kind of inspiration may hit this week too.

Talking about inspiration, I must get organised about puddings - still not.

Lunches - left overs, wraps and sarnies. Have a large weetabix cake at the ready to keep DS & DD from chewing on the furniture.
"A thousand candles can be lit from a single candle without shortening the life of that candle."

I still am Puddleglum - phew!
