    Did you buy anything nice?

Oh dear re: the crochet attempt. I can't offer any advice as I've never tried it! Can't see I'd be any good though if my knitting attempts are anything to go by :rotfl:
  • Morning BW. I didn't get anything - well, except a cereal bowl for £2.00. :rotfl: there was nothing that caught my eye so I didn't see the point in spending for the sake of it, so my vouchers came home with me. I did take some clothes/bedding to recycle so came home with a £5 H&M voucher. It was a lovely day though, Mum got 2 dresses and I treated her dinner. :)

Just got back in from a run. It's raining again - what's going on? The fresh air certainly wakes you up though. Think i'll have a quick cuppa and then get in the shower. Been reading 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' so might have a sneaky read too. :D

  • Run done and monthly op made. It was slightly less than planned due to contributions to the living room fund and birthday planning but it's all heading in the right direction. :)

Yesterday was a garden day. I did some tidying, dug up some potatoes and planted some new ones. Then I tackled the drive with my gf - it's such a mess with grass growing between the bricks. The plan for next year is to get it concreted but it's an expense I can do without at the moment.

Today i'm going to do some house sorting and maybe a bit of reading too. Nearly finished my book. :D

Just popped in to say hello. Hope you have been enjoying the rest of your holiday :)
  • Hi BW - oops I've been away for far too long (and enjoying myself of course). First day back at work today so I was brought back down to earth with a bump.

I have some good news - I've now officially paid off 2/3 of my mortgage! :j I just need to stay focussed for the final part which is proving very hard to do (I might have gone on a bit of a spending spree on a day out and spent almost £100 on clothes!). But I'm back on the bandwagon now and trying to be good. I might need to do a bit of spreadsheet fiddling to help me to re-focus.

So in an attempt to try and balance the scales a little I had a batch cooking session yesterday and made numerous portions of spinach and lentil soup and chana masala (sp?), all from storecupboard ingredients and all very tasty and healthy. :) The chooks are happily laying lots of lovely eggs so they're doing their bit to help me along too. And I have quite a few 'mystery meals' in the freezer so they'll be feeding me this week.

Despite my spending spree, it's been a profitable month so far with extra pennies coming from surveys, interest, matched betting and a whopping win of just over £12 for my horse getting a place in the National, so that's an extra £143.60 to go into the pot. :) Hopefully I can keep the momentum going, although it's not as easy once work starts to take over.

    Have a good evening.
