Aww thanks moneyfordreamsI hope it goes like a dream too - there's been a few bumps in the road along the way but generally I feel I've been quite lucky... in addition to throwing the money at the mortgage before I get chance to spend it! :rotfl:

But I'm back on the bandwagon now and trying to be good. I might need to do a bit of spreadsheet fiddling to help me to re-focus.
:T Awesome news on the mortgage MG - really pleased for youI think the little splurge is allowed.....it helps to keep you sane

Thanks BW.
It's been a spendy month so far as I took my gf out for a birthday meal earlier this week and have my Nanna's birthday coming up next week. Funnily enough, I only ever feel guilty about spending money on myself, i'm perfectly happy with spending it on other people. Is anyone else the same?
I've just got in from a run and had a healthy breakfast of porridge topped with strawberries and a green juice. I could have easily talked myself out of going but just got up and got on with it and feel loads better for it. (i think there's a lesson to be learnt there).
Yesterday was an early start as my gf had a hospital appointment. Afterwards we went for a wander around the shops and popped to a cafe for lunch. The afternoon was spent doing house jobs and schoolwork. Today will be filled with more housework and schoolwork, a bit boring I know, but I'll feel better within myself for being organised. Hopefully I'll make a bit of time for reading too.
There's no mortgage news to report. I've been mostly living from the freezer this week and plan to make another batch of beetroot burgers later.
Have a lovely Sunday.

I think sometimes we find spending on others easier to justify than on ourselves. Doesn't mean it's any more/less right/wrong.
Hope you managed to find some time to read
I'm currently reading this whilst it was a little slow to start, I'm now really enjoying it and looking forward to finding out how it ends.
Hope you have a good & stress free week

Hello MFW world! It's been ages since I had the time to stop by due to general life busy-ness. I must confess that I haven't been a very good MFW-er in my absence and haven't made an op so far this month. I've paid off my cc from my shopping splurge and birthday treats from last month and I'm considering getting a few plumbing repairs done, so I think it's wise to not make an op until I figure out what's left.
I'm looking forward to catching up on some diaries later this week.

Morning all. There hasn't been much moneysaving going on in my world at the moment except for a few small op's from survey cash outs. I seem to have got out of the swing of it. I've arranged for the plumber to do some repairs and need to get my car serviced so I'm keeping some money aside for that. Also, drumroll please...my curtains have finally been fitted and look great, so I've got the final instalment to pay off those. I'm determined to start tackling the mortgage again in June once everything is sorted.
In real life, work has been manic and I feel like i'll be approaching half-term virtually on my knees this time round. Just one more week to go thankfully. I've been trying to get the garden in order and planting seeds (for some reason my cucumber seeds dont seem to want to germinate -I always have cucumber issues - ahem!). I've also been running 3 times per week, which I think has helped to keep me sane. Ooh and I got my results for my second course assignment and I got a first!
I've been looking to change my mobile package as I'm allowed to upgrade now. My current package seems to have shot up from £15 to £18 (for no reason) so I'm considering another sim only deal for £12.50 or I can get an iph0ne 5s on the same tariff as the £12.50 one for £18.00 - not sure what to do. I like my old phone (4s) but it doesn't seem to hold it's charge for as long so I'm unsure whether to keep it for another year? Think I'll have to give it some serious pondering while out in the garden.
Happy Sunday.

Hello MG
Yay for getting the curtains up. It's always so satisfying when you can 'see' the finished articles. Glad you are pleased with them
Congrats on the assignment :T That's awesome!
Hang in there til half term - not long to go. I can totally understand your feeling of flagging though. (I've got another 8 weeks til my break  - so happy to live through others people's til then)
Re: the phone. I think if you can get the newer one for a cheaper price than you are on, then you should go for it
Have a great day

Hi BW
Thank you for stopping by. Yes, I'm thinking that getting a new phone might be the way forward. I'm going to wait til half term before I order it so that I'll be around when it's delivered.
I've had a very productive day in the garden today. I've planted squash, courgette, basil, melon and kale seeds, repotted my peppers, built a bean frame and planted out my beans and mangetout, and tackled the overgrown ten-foot at the back of the house. So I'm starting to feel a bit less behind with the garden jobs. The next step is to start weeding the strawberry patch and then build a frame to stop the birds getting to them - I've got all the materials already so it shouldn't be a huge job. I now have 3 rhubarb plants as the one I split last year has been successful so I think there'll be plenty of crumbles (and maybe a few curries) on the cards this year.
Just 5 more days to go until half-term. I think I'm going to get tucked up in bed and admire my curtains..errr...read a book. :rotfl:

Well done on getting all those garden jobs done. That satisfied feeling should help you get through the next 5 days
Happy reading x0
