  • Ooh and I forgot to say - I've just had a letter to say that I've paid my bed off (an interest free offer, of course ;) ). :j:j:j So I'll be almost £100 richer each month now... I think it will end up going towards the living room fund.

  • Just a quick update as I'm feeling very sleepy tonight. It's been a busy weekend filled with gardening mainly - I've repotted some basil, planted some green beans (a bit late with them this year), weeded the strawberry patch - a mammoth task, built a frame for the strawberry netting (so hopefully they wont become a bird banquet this year), cut the grass and packaged my eb@y parcels (made just over £30 :j ). My gf has spent the weekend stripping paint from the skirting boards in the living room so I've been keeping her fed and watered too. Starting to get a bit excited about having a newly decorated living room now - I've lived with it since I moved in, lovely brown skirting boards and blue walls :rotfl: Hoping to get another voucher before we go to B&Q for wallpaper and paint.

Time to get some sleep, night all.

Well done for paying off the bed - the money saved should go far at B&Q.
Your vegetable patch sounds great. I still have to build our greenhouse.

  • Thanks cookie and BW. The decorating is coming along slowly - all of the skirting boards and picture rails have been sanded and were heading out to B&Q in a few minutes to get primer and look at wallpaper. I have some vouchers so i'll be using those towards it.

Life is full of end of term busyness at the moment. I'm desperately to try and get my final assignment done before the end of term so my evenings are filled with that. Weekends are full of housework, gardening and decorating.

There's just 2 weeks to go before the hols - I can't wait to reclaim my sanity! :rotfl:

Oh it is, or should I say 'they' are. I ended up buying 2 two seater leather recliners. I have to wait 10 weeks for delivery but that'll give me enough time to get the living room sorted.

Aaaannnndddd...I may have bought a La-Z-Boy today for my gf...oops...but the offer was too good to resist...and I got free delivery...and it's arriving next Thursday *creeps into a corner and hangs her non-mse head in shame* :rotfl:

    :D That's funny.

Don't feel bad hun...by being frugal elsewhere, that's how you can afford to do such things....:)
  • Thanks BW. :D She's moving in in a few months so were getting some decorating done beforehand. I've sold my dining room furniture so I'm also tempted to crack on and get that room decorated too over the summer holidays whilst its empty...I've not budgeted for it but it saves doing it next year and it'll just mean I have to cut back on my op's for a few months.

I amazed myself this morning. It's the last week of term and I've managed to get up and go for a run before work. I must be mad! :rotfl:

    Have a lovely Tuesday.
