BW - I've read The Rosie Project, Elizabeth is Missing and Mary Portas' 'Shop Girl'. I've got Sue Perkins 'Spectacular' for Xmas but I'm finishing off a few books that I'm halfway through first and then I'll get started on it.

I've read the Rosie Project and quite enjoyed it. I think there is a second one too - though not read that myself. I'd also quite like to read the Mary Portas one.
I've started to tell myself that I can only do what I'm able to and not to give myself a hard time. :o

I'm guilty of that myself MG - be kind to yourself... that's the mantra I'm trying to adhere to... although often easier said than done!

Hope you are having a chilled Sunday :)

Kind of chilled. Spent this morning catching up with ironing, cleaning the chooks and doing a bit of gardening. Discovered a cute little field mouse in the compost bin (thankfully I didn't accidentally chop him in half with the spade!). I set him free in the garden, although I suspect he was quite happy burrowing around in there and munching on all the worms.

Snuggled on the sofa with snugglepuss watching Eat, Pray, Love and drinking Baileys. Although I am considering popping out for a walk along the seafront to help me get a bit closer to my 10,000 step target. Hmmm... should I stay or should I go?

Ah, you sound cosy so stay where you are.

Hope you get some time to nurture yourself MG, perhaps now your course is finished. I did a stressful masters which I finished last year, took me a long time to recover and enjoy guilt free evenings.

Think your mortgage neutral plan is sound. There are a few good regular savers around so look into those perhaps?

I'm a glutton for punishment Cath so ended up going for a little walk, it was lovely though, the sky was clear and the stars looked amazing. I am lucky living here as there isn't too much light pollution so the stars are always really clear - at times I wish I had a telescope and knew more about such things...maybe it's a future hobby in the making?

Unfortunately my course doesn't finish until October, but I have a few weeks to get ahead before the next module begins as they've posted all the units already. At least I know how the course works now so I can plan for it a bit more. I think the problem last term was that it didn't start til mid October and by the time I'd got started I had about 2 months to do 8 units plus an essay.

Almost up to 10,000 steps on my fitbit! :T

  • Been a busy week so far. I'm looking forward to weekend. I've done a bit of tidying and a load of washing tonight to try and free up a bit of precious weekend time. Hopefully going for an ice-cream with my partner (yes really) if the weather holds out, although we've already seen the first sign of snow today. :(

I've not done much money making this week except for sw@gbucks and a couple of surveys. I'm hoping to get a load of things listed on fb at the weekend so keeping my fingers crossed that some of my goodies will sell. My budgeting is going well so far though and I batch cooked some beetroot burgers last night - they were lush and helped to use up some of my huge lentil stash! I've also been busy 'fitbitting', I managed to make my target steps yesterday and Monday and will do by the end of today too. Tuesday was yoga so I'm letting myself off with that one. ;) I've also been making time for reading and writing so I'm quite happy with how my evenings have been going.

    Bring on the weekend.

Beetroot burgers sound delicious. I made a big batch of JO chicken caciatore to tuck into on Sunday so a nice relaxed end to the weekend. Hope your fb listings go well.

Morning MG - welcome to the weekend :)

We had snow here too this week - although really only a dusting and it had gone by mid morning - could have been worse!

Mmmm your beetroot burgers sounds yummy!

  • Thanks for stopping by BW and cookie. :) Not much to report this weekend, it's been fairly quiet. I felt really tired today so it's been mostly a lazy sofa day.

Can't believe it's Monday again tomorrow - the weekend has flown!

Nothing wrong with a sofa day - I always think they are good for mental health ;)

Hope you have had a good Monday x
