You are so welcome to join in. I found MSE over a year ago and I love it here. Loads of the offers apply for Ireland too as we mostly have the same shops and brands.

If the survey site pays by paypal or Amazon vouchers then you can do it from pretty much anywhere although I did stretch the truth a little by pretending I live in Northern Ireland when I signed up. Start with onepoll maybe, the surveys are short and it's popular around here.

You could do some mystery shopping too. The places I mystery shop have branches in Killarney/Tralee. If you want to do this I can direct you to the relevant websites. I'm in Cork by the way, city based, not sure if you've worked that out or not from my diary.

To be honest it takes a while to get into the surveys and mystery shopping because there are so many sites to register for. But if you got started now you could be quite established at it by the time your job ends.

Thanks lots. I figured it was Cork when I saw the post bout the plane crash, remember seeing it on the news as the story broke, it was a terrible thing to happen.

I just realised that we're both 32 and called Mags!

Am going looking up survey sites now!

    Hi Mags

Today I had a flick through the Avon catalogue. It has been posted through my door every week for the 5 years I've lived here and I've only ever ordered one thing once. I saw they had hair serum for £5 something but you get free shampoo and conditioner with it...my hair is in need of something to keep it in control. It tends to look okay before I leave the house then five mins later it's all over the place and static-y. Might give it a try after your good experience :)

The Avon serum goes on damp hair before you dry it. Just mentioning this because some people prefer serum that can be used on dry hair if it gets frizzy, in which case the John Frieda serum from Boots might suit better.

Had a powerplate class yesterday, it's 25-30 minutes long and felt really difficult after around 10 minutes. Not as sore today as I was the first time I went, it's mostly my arms and abdominal (core) muscles that are hurting a bit. I'm realising that I feel quite good after exercising so I have to keep it up. Problem is the cost :( All classes and gyms cost money so keeping it up is yet another expense I can't strictly afford. Walking/running/couch to 5k is free so that's what'll be happening when there's no money for classes :)

I :heart2: some of the new diaries and projects that have started here since Easter. Kerry78's renovate me project, lionheartedgirl (I think I know who she used to be) LittleBoots new fashion and appearance plans and the new Memorygirl Matrix thread but that moves so fast I find it very difficult to keep up.

I'm loving all the talk of "I'm worth it" funds, being flamboyant and people investing in themselves. Not sure how I can take part because I'm already spending quite a bit on such things (hairdresser, exercise classes, groupon vouchers, random Grabbit bargains, clothes in sales) and I'm already addicted to cosmetics :D but I'm looking forward to seeing what other people do/buy.

I'm particularly interested in how people get on with this financially, because I find keeping up appearances a very expensive hobby despite getting the best value when I do buy. I know I've mentioned before that including money for anything like this gets frowned upon when people post a SOA (statement of affairs ) but for me it's sort of essential to my wellbeing/mental health.

I did 2 toluna surveys this morning and I'm at £26.55 on onepoll.

Forgot to add I watched another of my screenclick dvd's last night. "It's a Wonderful Life" another classic which I've never watched before. @cherisong loves it and has recommended it on her threads.

It's from 1946 so it's black and white, which I wouldn't have gone for myself without all the recommendations. It's about George Bailey a businessman from Bedford falls who ends up feeling suicidal because of his fustration with life, having abandoned his dreams of travelling the world to stay home and run the family business. An angel comes from Heaven to save him on Christmas Eve.

I too can recommed it although "The Notebook" was more my thing.

I think my free trial will be running out soon so I'll need to look into cancelling it.

Thanks again :). I wash my hair every day so the serum might do me okay. I might just loook for a similar one in Boots though so I can get it today and get points (oooh the guilt of depriving the avon lady of another sale is creeping in already).

I love the 'I'm worth it' fund idea, I have a fabulous fund which I put about £5-10 a week in as I can afford. Its empty just now as I'm a bit skint but I already have my next hair appointment paid for (thanks to groupon) and in the future I'll look out for special offers/groupon type deals etc. I also feel at the moment that it's important to my well being. No point having loads of money in the bank if youre miserable...

P.s I think I'd like to try the powerplate thing, I think they do 4 sessions for £10 at my local sunbed place but its not as long as 25 mins though.

Sounds like the sunbed place might have vibration plates (cheaper to buy than powerplates). 4 sessions for £10 is good, I'd try it for that and exercice is exercise. Trying all sorts of random things might help us keep the interest up. Curves have free trial lessons here too so I'm going to book that as well.

Vibration plates, yeah sounds more like it :). I've just finished a 6 week Curves membership and really enjoyed it. However dont think its worth the full membership price. For now I'm going to concentrate onthe C25k and may go swimming...think LA fitness are doing free 3 day passes :)

All this variety is brilliant :T, no LA fitness here but definitely do the free trial.

    £27 on onepoll now :)

Just did a 40p Crowdology survey, haven't had one of those in a while. Today is being very productive for surveys (although not productive for much else so far)
