There were no tops in Hobbs in Westfield yesterday but a few in NW3 upstairs.
However I thought they were poor value even with £25 off so didn't buy anything.
I'll nip back in there next month and fingers crossed they'll have new stock.
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

I made a special trip today and was told I absolutely could not use my voucher on a top.

EDIT: Oh, and all the tops, even the £30 ones had been removed to the stock room. I asked for one specificially and they fetched it for me but then refused my sale when I produced my card - very cross!! :(

How rude! Definitely call or email CS and let us know how you get on. That's awful. Which store was it? xo

Thanks for the support - it was the Guildford store and I have written a complaint (thanks to those who provided the email addresses).

Also, to those of you who are saying stock is very low, that's what Guildford's tactic was but if you ask for your size they will go and fetch it from the stock room for you!

I'll report back if they bother to respond to me.
"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

  • Hi Red Balloon, it was the Guildford store I had problems with last week (see previous posts) they did allow me to use my voucher but this was last Wednesday and I asked to see the manager. One of the sales assistant was lovely the other was rude and obviously not happy that I was using the gift card. I also had to ask for a top in a size medium. Might be worth phoning the shop and asking to speak to the manager.

It was Guildford prompted us to call Head Office too - see earlier in the thread.

A huge thank you to all who post the comps and deals that make life so much fun!
  • Why are they hiding all the tops in the stock rooms , on sat i called a store asked if they had a top i wanted they said no !!
when i went in i tryed a diff size on and a few other items in the changing rooms & asked for the actual size i wanted and had called up about they went and got it . they did have it .

I think they have been told to use there discretion which is what i was originally told so if they think you are there with a card they wont go get you the tops from store room (this was a 39 top not a 25 cami .)

Well I finally mangaged to get to the nearest Hobbs (Edinburgh)which is a fair distance from me. I was able to browse without being bothered, I was just asked politely if I was finding what I was looking for. When I got to the till I had a very nice lady packing the top but as I went to pay the girl on the till was obviously having a bad day and I got the 'oh you want to pay using that do you?' I said 'yes please' very sweetly, I was then asked if I was on the mailing list which I replied I thought I was and gave her my name but she could not find it so was told you will HAVE to give me your details as you are using the card, this is when I got a bit annoyed and said I actually do not HAVE to give you my details but of course I will! She was not best pleased with me but I do not like being ordered to do something that is not their right to demand of me! I was very pleased with the lovely top I managed to buy for £14 instead of £39. We also managed a trip to Austin Reed to buy my OH some socks with our £15 coupon from the Telegraph offer. All in all it was a very successful day for our bargains, all thanks to this site!:T

It seems as though Hobbs needs to brush up on its customer service skills! Shame that Head Office were so quick to put right the problem on this website, but their staff are acting so uppity in some stores!
