Yes, thanks so much to Archna and MSE - you have so much more power to help resolve these 'miscommunications' than we have on our own!

And well done Hobbs/Red for getting a positive PR promotion back on track.... :)

So: who shall be first to report back on a shopping trip then?! :D

Great news, but the cynic in me has visions of all 25 and under tops being removed from display!
  • Just to add, this is what Hobbs has said:

Further to our conversation I can confirm that we have received a small number of complaints from customers either directly or via Red magazine who were unable to redeem our promotion yesterday, which are being dealt with today by our customer service team. Our store staff had been contacted by Head Office to advise them that certain items in our new Collections were at extremely low stock levels due to the popularity of the promotion. Sadly, there appears to have been a miscommunication as to what to action, which resulted in disappointment for a few people. We have today communicated with all of our stores to clear up this misunderstanding, and we can re-assure customers that when returning to one of our stand alone stores, their cards will be accepted.

That is what happened in the Aberdeen shop. No camisoles and only 1 top at £29 on view. When you asked about another size they disappeared to the stock room then came back and said sorry. This happened several times to friends of mine which is why i was waiting till I went to London on holiday.

I don't think that is the case, I think they are genuinely low on stock,

Just played around on the website and many of the cami's are low stock, or out of stock so I think they are being honest.

I would imagine that they don't usually sell so many of these type of items as they are quite pricey, and I bet they've sold hundreds in the past week or so!

I am amazed by the service from Hobbs, I've had a very polite e-mail from them this afternoon :)
It's not often a company will back track in the customers favour- think of all the cancelled orders from other on-line companies...

I am so pleased with their service, I think they have a new customer- only in the sales mind ;)

  • I emailed yesterday to complain about the change in policy and have just received a very polite response along the same lines as the one given to MSE. I'm very pleased that this issue has been sorted and I can get the 'Arlette' top I had my eye on!
  • I think stock is low, I had to ask for a top in my size yesterday, and the sa did say they were running out of tops that is why they were issuing a disclaimer not allowing gift cards for tops. Glad Hobbs have had a change of heart, and I think it is a change of heart rather than a miscommunication as the Guildford store were adamant yesterday that they were legally within their rights to change their t & cs. By saying there was a miscommunication it allows them to backtrack but also save face, but who cares so long as people can still use their gift cards for what they originally intended to.
