I wonder who pays for what with this sort of promotion. I was told by Bodyshop staff that they are repaid the £5 voucher by the paper that ran the promotion that they had for valentines day. I suppose with most of the freebies or money off vouchers with the papers they limit the cost by the disclaimer while stocks last.

I was so excited when it was said
I should buy a copy of Red
    Inside was a wonderful prize
That would really open my eyes

A voucher all for me just to spend
£25 – so I told all my friends
So to Hobbs we went and flocked
To spend our vouchers on nice new posh tops

But our smiles have now turned to tears
Cos now everything now is too dear
T&C changes now means that we must
Write to Hobbs to register disgust

We now urge Hobbs to go think
How all this will make sales shrink
We want to spend in your shops
But on tops and not dear frocks!

    So please don’t change T&C’s
So we can all buy go and buy what we please
We will all feel so much better
When we pay little for a lovely posh sweater!

What do you all think? Will it work?

Definitely. Send it to Hobbs and Red! :T:T:T

I have done - I will report back if and when I get a reponse, although I think it may be a long wait if everyone here is complaining to them too!

  • Hi all,

Some good news for you. I've spoken to both Red magazine and Hobbs and they're keen to clear this up.

Hobbs has said the error was due to a miscommuincation and you WILL be able to use the gift cards as per the terms and conditions on the back of the card - on everything (barring the exclusions on the back of the card, eg, accessories) with no minimum spend.

A new memo has gone out this morning to clear up the confusion and I'm just waiting for a confirmed response from Hobbs which I will post up here.

Hobbs also said it's dealing with all the people that have complained directly so far (this may take a while).

Please do let me know if you have any more problems like this and I will get in touch again - please also report if you manage to use it successfully!

    Hope that helps.
