  • Im a bit scared to go in the store now :( . can anyone feedback how the staff are when they go in x

Don't be scared tevangelynne you're not doing anything wrong! You're just taking advantage of a brilliant offer that Hobbs have put out there :)
Love my new Tassimo machine! Thanks Currys :j:j
  • So happy that the top/voucher issue has been solved! I saw this very nice top with white/purple stripes that I like to purchase.
But if they don't have that in any of the stores in stock then I will wait with using the card till March/April when most of the people have already used their card and the hype is over. Right now because so many people are using their card on tops there won't be a lot of choice left at the moment.
Remember, the card is valid till early May! :j

Me too. I buy the RED magazine anyway and was a bit dubious of the offer at first thinking it was a minumum spend. When I saw on here it wasnt I was delighted. Not a shop I go into and there is one locally but its in a very big shopping centre and the only one for 40 miles. Im thinking they will be low on stock.

I only have the one card, I wasnt greedy and went mad. After being a loyal customer to the magazine Im grateful that it was offered.

Went into store today... guess what!!! NO camis on display. The very helpful SA was going to see if she could get me one out the back when her colleague said that they didn't have any and would be unlikely to get them back in before the summer! She was all faux sympathy that I might miss out on getting one, but then she also complained about customers coming in and getting 'free' tops with the cards, she thought that it was 'ridiculous'! Well well well, said I to myself... how do we get around this little stock problem?

Quite easily as it turns out. :) I came back here and ordered my camis online with free del to store. When I go to collect I will return them and rebuy with the gift cards! Can't wait to see her face, I do hope that she's on that day lol. :rotfl:

I used to work in retail, I wont name the High St store, but if there was ever an offer out there which involved customers getting a product for next to nothing, the stock up to a certain price was removed from display apart from tiny weeny sizes or larger sizes, that is why I was so cynical in my earlier post. Even if they were OOS or low stock they would definately be getting stock in before summer!

But if things bought online are returned to store they are not usually put out as stock in the shop they are returned to the warehouse e.g next, M&S, would imagine Hobbs might do the same.

Not always. New Look, Monsoon etc put returned stock out on the shop floor. We'll have to see. I will call CS beforehand anyway and be armed with the correct info!!! :D

I doubt very much that Hobbs would remove camis and tops from their stores from now until May 2 because they are a very lucrative item that regular customers will 'need' and want to try on with jeans/suits etc. From the trail of posts above it seems as though stocks may well be genuinely low in the short term, but that overall Hobbs Head Office has decided to take a hit on this one, and will accept our vouchers where stock is available.

I guess there will no doubt be individuals in the stores and at Customer Services who will continue to vent their spleens about how 'ridiculous' an offer it is (and not available to staff, I bet!) but really - as someone pointed out earlier - they are SAs not marketing executives and their words cannot hurt you unless you let them.

MSE Archna has asked us to report about our experiences here... and the CS email address for Hobbs is also posted above. I reckon the best way to deal with this fairly is for those that have bad experiences to name and shame the culprit stores, and for those who have positive experiences to heap praise where it is deserved... hopefully there will be lots of good news to report and Hobbs will come out of this with a new fanbase :)
