It could be worth mentioning to your husband that there's a large portion of drivers who would gladly slam on their brakes if they had a tailgator behind them, myself included. The prospect of a personal injury claim and lovely hire car is worth sacrificing your own car for when travelling at low speeds, especially when all of the blame will fall to the tailgator. I hope he gets it resolved soon. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Ok so let's say the car slammed on its brakes, your husband still would have had time to stop should he have kept to the 2 car lengths assuming it was a 30mph road.
I'm not making accusations - I don't need to but the evidence is pretty clear... He was tailgating the car infront, she braked for whatever reason and he rammed the back of it. This accident could have been completely avoided.
And still, all this is irrerlivant to my OP, I came on for advice, I never asked for opinions or assumptions of my husbands driving.0 -
You've had your advice and been told your OH is a bad driver. Two for one. BOGOF0

If his insurance premiums sky rocket, couldn't you insure the car in your name and have your husband as a named driver to save money? It is just unfortunate that this is going to affect you aswell since it's the family car. We’ve had to remove your signature. All I cam e on here for was some advice for myself, so I know what is happening, my husband never asked for me to post this, I did it off my own back, I would like to thank all the poepl who gave advice. I aknowledge people our entitled to reply wether it be good or bad.
I didnt come here to discuss my husbands driving, but ive had enough of the bad mouthing, is it not enough that we will have to get rid of our car just for the sake of a loose bumper, from what I understand he had time to stop, but there was oil on the road, which didnt help matters.0 -

I dont drive or even have a provisional, as far as im aware it would be fraud to do that, wouldn't it?
I know a lot of people do it, but I like to do things ligitimately, unfortunately it doesn't pay to do so, does it.0 -

Yes that would no doubt invalidate the policy if you didn't have a licence. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
