  • i bumped an old lady and cracked her rear bumper

i called her up a couple of days later to say can i pay for a brand new bumper and painting as i had a quote from pug for £450 she said the car had been taken away to nottingham to be put on a jig and checked over and repaired and the total claim i found out was 4600 so im guessing there was some whiplash in there

i still cant see how it was all done that fast - unless pugs really are that bad that i did really damage it lots

    She's claiming!

We have just received a call from her insurer confirming his registration details.

Although she gave the wrong registration and and car model.

What did he write down at the time?
I'd be questioning why the car has changed, sounds like she's trying it on.

He wrote it all down correctly, he copied it straight from the number plate, so knows he didn't get it wrong. His insurance company haven't heard anything yet though.

He has told his insurer that she gave the wrong details, for contacting the police to inform them can he just ring or does he have to go in?

He should know that you have to report a collision in person, there are no injuries so not reportable. No need to contact the police they won't do anything.

Did he not sign to say he's read and understands the highway code when he passed his test?

Why was your husband tailgating in the first place? I assume he was since he would have had plenty of time to stop if he was keeping the correct distance.
