UPDATE The scene of crime officers have been and gone, they have been able to pick up prints from the lock and door of the shed so hopefully they will be able to find out who has stolen the bike. Now we have a crime number and I have spoken to the insurance and given them details of my sons stolen bike, they have said it is their policy to replace the bike with a like for like cost wise so the new bike will be here monday, didnt have to fill a form in in order to get the ball moving.Which I found strange , but then not having to claim on the house insurance for a few years this could be how they do it now.
Sorry to hear about the break in. Great they got some fingerprints - however, it could be your sons fingerprints on the lock if he has been using it. Even if it is the offenders fingerprints, they will only be able to identify them if it is someone who has been in trouble before and had their fingerprints taken previously.0 -
Evening all.
Today has been a disaster! but a good disaster. Was meant to leave work and catch the 3:30 train home and pop into the branch next to my house, but missed my train so went back to office and it suddenly got busy so didn't get to the other branch till 5:30!
Went to waitrose and got some apricot croissants for OH's breakie tomorrow (40p) burger buns for friday (29p) Hovis rolls (29p) and some cooked ham reduced from £4 something to £1.20! and some reduced milk (although the sell by is quite long? ) So that was good
then i tried to make my LO chicken and mushroom pie, the recipe wanted me to mash in butterbeans with my mashed potato topping. I don't have a masher just a pototo ricer, butterbeans don't rice... Nor do they mash well with a fork. So have to fish through my mash to get the disaterous beans out.
So it's 7pm and i'm waiting for the water to heat up so i can quickly have a bath before OH gets home, then the pie will go in the oven, we will eat dinner and then i can relax!!!
Hope everyone has had a good day. Sorry to hear about the break in UolypoolAnnual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Crikey I never even thought about that, will this mean that my son will have to give his fingerprints? not that there is a problem with him doing that. This will be just our luck, mind you my neighbour but 1 said that they had lifted prints from their lock on sunday but they haven't got back to her to tell her if they are known prints?.Our local neighbourhood watch co ordinator has just been on the phone to see if there is anything they can do, I said that they insurance was dealing with the bike , he is going to come round tomorrow morning now and fit a new lock on the shed and sort out the security light for me.I know it sounds like the closing the stable door once the horse has bolted but least it will be done.Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
hello

havent read thread yet so hugs for the poorlies and sad ones.
I had a chat with DD last night about her ex BF and she told me some things I didnt know which have made me so angry
Apparently on a couple of occasions when she was staying over his he totally flipped and grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground :mad: she ended up with a mouthfull of blood and bruises
This is on top of putting her down all the time, telling her she's fat (she's a size 10/12) and generally being a total control freak
He made it obvious he wanted nothing to do with me or DH but we made sure he knew he was welcome at our house anytime, I feel so stupid I didn't realise exactly how badly he was treating her. I'm just so glad she's finally realised for herself and has finished with him, he isnt worth a single one of the tears she's cried over the last few days
Sorry for the rant, Im just so mad at the moment, my DH is upset too and feels we've let DD down.
I'm just praying he doesnt try and weedle his way back into her life, although he will have to get past me first!!
Will pop back and post later when Ive read the thread.0 -
At least now she is now out of hiss evil clutches , what a toss pot her ex is. The poor thing must have been / still is pretrified. hope all works out her ((hugs))
redruby, glad to hear your dad's finally on his way, Its disgraceful he and all of you have been through.
uolypool the police probably won't ask for prints, when we got burgaled, they didn't ask for ours. Good news on the insurance front though. We had to wait ages for ours to come through.
Well the bread exploded
, but at least we have loads of mince lol. Now just waiting for the brownie to finish cooking so i can crack on with mending of clothes and fitting the kitchen.
Had some news on the funding front, OH might have some coming through soon:D fingers and legs crossed it happens.0 -

Thank goodness she saw the light in time,he could have ended up really hurting her,i'm sure in time she will get over all this and will find somebody nice.
I'm sitting here eating a big bar of chocolate which i know i will regret later ,but i'm drowning my sorrows with out actually drinking.
Rentokil have been out to try and sort Rat prob. There can't find where there getting in so the only thing left to do is clear actic out completly all the insulation etc, clean it all and put down tracking dust all for cost of two thousand pounds:eek:thats for next door as well.So fed up with it,over the last two yrs we have paid out a fortune to differant companys and got no where.OH is out so didnt bother with tea just going to make do with my chocolate, might start on the cream eggs after i need cheering up.:)
Take care all0 -
Im back having read the thread now

Rang Sky today and haggled, didn't get anything off my bill but I asked about Sky+ box as only have standard box and they've given me a free SkyHD+ box and free installation saving about £180 :money:I've wanted Sky+ for ages but refused to pay that much so Im very happy, I don't normally have the confidence to push for deals so I'm pretty proud of myself for asking :j
DD has gone to the pub with some friends so at least she's not sitting in her room brooding over that idiot ex BF.
Dinner was HM shepherds pie, bulked out with veg and lentils of course
Cleaned the floors of muddy paw prints and wm has been on as usual.
Redruby that's good news about your Dad, hope you can sort the idiots out that were meant to be looking after him.
Hope everyone has a good evening

evening!
been a long day - just sat down with a cuppa ready to watch Silent Witness. Busy at work as we are having a new bathroom fitted with an all-singing all-dancing bath:j the service users will love it but it's caused major hassles trying to get it done as we're down to 1 toilet - no bath only a shower for the 5 of them and about 8 staff.
Still we got everyone up and washed in time for the workmen to begin.:T
I've been to collect DS2 from work too.
Tomorrow its my hospital appointment for my colposcopy_pale_ I'm an old hand at these but I've got a new (male) consultant to meet for the first time tomorrow. The last 10 years or so of treatment have been with 2 ladies. My friend from work is driving me and if all goes well we're taking her rescue collie to the woods for a walk afterwards.
Not a lot on the OS front to report today and I just cba to go into detail.:D Hope everyones ok (((hugs))) if not x x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Taplady - all the best for tomorrow
