  • i totally agree about having to be the right person for the job, and i guess that was why i was on a shortlist, but on the day they seemed to just put a little more out there to people with the more relevant degrees IYSWIM, I had to constantly justify why my degree could be adapted to the job, rather than being interviewed on my merits as a person. I've been thinking for a while, my parents have said that they are willing to take on my car payments (at the moment they have the one car, but have been looking at getting a second) if I wanted to move abroad for a bit or go travelling. I'm tempted to go out to my cousins in Australia who have been on at me since I was 16 to get over there (they are early 30s and stayed with us twice for a year when they were in their 20s) - I have minimal ties at the moment, they keep telling me there is a surplus of jobs out there, and not to sound totally heartless as I know people who have been caught up in it - I am a construction consultant and cost engineer and they are facing a massive rebuilding project. Everything points to it making sense to move out there but I'm just reluctant to pass my debt (car) onto someone else, even though they are wanting me to! Maybe this is the move I'm to make!!! I think I'll be beating Switzerland as the longest commute to the thread :rotfl:
I think my arms can't take much more moisturiser this morning :rotfl: i'm on a mission to ditching this thing!

No longer have 32 mascaras - have 33, thanks to a late Christmas present of a Max F gift set!

But have used up a Givenchy perfume sample and a sachet of Palmers cocoa b - so a bit of progress:rotfl::rotfl:

You know what Roshy, if you want to, do it! If you are earning enough, you could always send money back for the car, and if not, you could repay your parents some other way by perhaps paying for them to come out and visit you on holiday, or something?

Sorry you didn't get the job, but perhaps this is your silver lining. And who knows what will come of it? :D

Another UU this morning, the other mini tube of S&G Hair Supply I found half used... again not a big fan of this but it's gone.

My work stash is a lip gloss and pump bottle of Hand Food I got in a gift set ages ago - find I'm more likely to use the pump.

Then in my bag a mini tube of hand food and more lip balm/gloss.

Nail files in both of these too so I'm straightforward when it comes to all of this (the joys of being surrounded at work by male academics!)

Another UU to report: Corsodyl Daily Mouth Wash. I'm also right at the end of mm Sendodyn Pronamel Whitening Toothpaste, so I'll 'fess up to a UU in advance of silly o' clock tonight when I finally get the last slither out of it.

Declaring these as UU's is technically cheating as I don't consider them part of my stash (and one of them isn't even UU's yet!), but it gives me such pleasure amending my signature that you wouldn't want to deprive me of that, would you?! ;)

    Ahoy there Sailors!

Looking at these work stashes makes me wish I had an office job!

    Two UU:
Avon So Sensual Body Spray- Nice smell, but ended up pouring the last inch into the bottle of febreze because it wouldn't spray out!

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Polish- LOVE LOVE LOVE this, it's in my gym bag because it's so scrummy it motivates me to go- a special treat for working out if you will. Shame about the fact it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get it all out though....

Talking about the gym- going when the local rugby team are training in their tight shorts is VERY motivational! ;)

    Have a nice day!

One UU today: Full size Elemis Lavender toner WNBA. have been trying to find an alternative to LE Instant Boost Skin Tonic. This is not it as it's dearer and still not as effective. Use too little and it does nothing, use too much and it dries my skin out. Does smell lush though.
Have you tried any of the Clarins toners - I use the extra comfort one and that's lovely.
I am going to be controversial here but... I don't rate any of the Elemis skin care products - when I have an Elemis facial my skin feels like its stinging. And I found the collagen marine cream gave me spots. Shame as love the Frangipani (aarrgh spelling) shower cream. But all our skins are different so if you find something you love stick to it - don't tart around like I used to!:rotfl:Strictly skincare of course :p

Hi everyone and welcome to any newbies.
VALM - I am also on the look out for an alternative to the LE Instant boost skin tonic. The A'kin Lavender one doesn't compare and neither does the Neal's yard orange flower toner. Now really tempted to look into the Clarins toner mineallmine and I'm with you on the Elemis - wanted to like it so much but had a bad reaction to the tri-enzyme cleanser and now don't want to risk anything else from Elemis:( (my face was red raw and felt like it was burning!)

Also, I am now motivated to move items from my home stash to my handbag stash - can't believe I only carried hand cream around with me!

    Hi all

I had a massive online NPI this morning, filled my basket and then closed the page!!! It was a grabbit (Bliss at Debenhams) and a very good bargain, but I don't NEED the stuff!!! Go me :)

roshy, sorry to hear about the job. Definitely ask for feedback, I think it shows a willingness to learn and improve and will impress them. Why not try out Australia? I would be so tempted if I were in your position. Make a list of pros and cons and post them here xoxo

My sister had a Clinique consultation before and they gave her the wrong 3 step system  and it burned her skin - she couldn't go out into the sun for 3 months without any SPF (25+) and even then it was risky. Always, always, ALWAYS please get a second consultation to make sure they give you the right system. Sorry, I know most people have the correct one straight away but I know it really reacted with her so just want to make you aware of it

Don't want to be a scaremonger :o but just be careful, they are very strong x

Yes, their clarifying lotions are very harsh. The mild one is the only one I would use, the others are horrid.
