  • Morning all. Loving the office stashes. I am cabin crew so when I go to work I take a fairly comprehensive bag. Usually though, we're often too busy to use too much of it (bit of toothpaste, powder and spray of perfume is as much as I can hope for) but I have a mortal fear of my suitcase not arriving and therefore having NO MAKE UP! so I always take my essentials with me in my handbag.

Have a few INs to confess. A couple of which I don't mind, one which makes me go Grrrr! I've been staying in a hotel where the toiletries were quite nice, so, er, they're now in my bag. Sshhhh! I also went to a lovely, quality market. I needed some lavender oil so I bought some from an aromatherapy stall, without smelling it, and when I opened it later it smells like olbas oil (bleurgh!) so I've paid £5 for an In which I don't even like!:(

If anybody wants to buy an everlasting foundation, try Rimmel, I've been using mine up FOREVER! It's ok but I've got the Boots mineral one which I love so I'm using the Rimmel one for quiet not much happening days and, er, work, but it just keeps going.

Have a good day everyone. Going to update sig.

Have you tried any of the Clarins toners - I use the extra comfort one and that's lovely.
I am going to be controversial here but... I don't rate any of the Elemis skin care products - when I have an Elemis facial my skin feels like its stinging. And I found the collagen marine cream gave me spots. Shame as love the Frangipani (aarrgh spelling) shower cream. But all our skins are different so if you find something you love stick to it - don't tart around like I used to!:rotfl:Strictly skincare of course :p

Hi, yes have tried the Clinique toner (remember it being purple coloured) and it was too astringent for me.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Hi Everybody,

well over the weekend had a big sort out and put all the different items into groups so they are much more organised now.

Since last week we have UU 2 bottles of shampoo, one bottle of conditioner, and two toothpastes.

    So was down to 889.

However I won two items from my local Lush a shower gel and bar of soap so went and collected them on Saturday but I did not buy anything when I was in there so that was a first so back up to 891 items.

  • Morning all! Just thought I'd let you know, I just got a standard email from the company saying I didn't get the job  I wish I had have been told through a phone call then they could tell with me having no voice that I wasn't myself on the day ! Oh well, everything happens for a reason and I obviously wasn't meant to get it, I'm not too gutted as I got the impression on the day that there were people more qualified than me (they had degrees relating to the job) but its still a bit niggly.

I did, on the other hand have a nice bath last night, didn't moisturise :o but made up for it this morning :A I have a full face of make up on, my hair had been plaited along the front (like my fringe), I'm wearing a nice tunic with a peterpan collar, skinny jeans and pumps to try and cheer me up and set me in a less pathetic feeling-sorry-for-myself mood today! I have 4 shifts in the pub this week, so have to start putting money aside!!

No UU to report even though I am sure I used a few items up last night! I have used up a box of cotton buds this morning but that wasn't what I was thinking of!

    Have a good day!xx

My sister had a Clinique consultation before and they gave her the wrong 3 step system  and it burned her skin - she couldn't go out into the sun for 3 months without any SPF (25+) and even then it was risky. Always, always, ALWAYS please get a second consultation to make sure they give you the right system. Sorry, I know most people have the correct one straight away but I know it really reacted with her so just want to make you aware of it

Don't want to be a scaremonger :o but just be careful, they are very strong x
  • Sorry to hear about the job Roshy. Good for you getting yourself all glammed up, it can only make you feel better. Something will come along and at least you're taking steps to cushion yourself, I for one, am taking a lesson from you.

Morning everyone - I am sooo impressed with the desk and handbag stashes!

Roshy - sorry about the job but the market is definitely picking up. You should ask them to give you some more specific feedback, lazy geets sending you an email. I wouldn't get too hung up on having the right degree for the right job - it's all about the right PERSON and the right Job for YOU - which that obviously was not, but it was valuable experience for you at interviewing etc etc.

    night all xx

Completely OT, have you seen the Tescos 3 for 2 on pet food/litter etc offer - I filled the boot of my car last night. It's nice to have something new to hoard since I've given up toiletries (grits teeth!). I actually stood in Boots yesterday with the S&G hand food in my hand, dreaming of taking it home with me under the 3 for 2....sigh....but now I have discovered that the SIMPLE face cream I bought (also on 3 for 2) brings me out in a rash (great - so much for this range) I now have them as 3 handcreams to use up...sigh....and they are so boring.

Have a few INs to confess. A couple of which I don't mind, one which makes me go Grrrr! I've been staying in a hotel where the toiletries were quite nice, so, er, they're now in my bag. Sshhhh! Could you add this to a nice bath - that's where I put my olbas oil when I've got a cold! :)

I need a nice face night cream - any recommendations please -nothing to break the budget!? I have excema so can only use certain things - have found No. 7 ok but never tried the night cream?

Oh and you guys are responsible for the google search I just did on Liz Earle......!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Roshy, sorry to hear about the job, I agree totaly with what juliebunny said.

Juliebunny, I quite like the Nivea oxygen night cream, it's expensive in Boots etc but cheaper (about £5.99) in TJ Hughes if you have one close by. I've not really found a night cream I really like yet but this is the best so far, not so greasy as others.

I thought I had found my HG eye gel last night - it was really firming and canceled out most of the fine lines - if you can imagine putting pva glue under your eyes iyswim? Unfortuately I got up this morning and it's peeling like pva glue!!!
