But does anyone know if I should use pressed powder with a sponge or a brush?

I've used both over the years (not really a sponge buy one of those velour puff things that you get 3 in a pack http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Velour-Powder-Puffs-2_1115759/ ) but have definitely come to the conclusion that brushes are better - if only for the fact that the puffs can soak up oils and yucky things from your face and brushes tend not to. Kabuki brushes are quite good as they don't let it look caked on IYKWIM

Hi everyone! Can't seem to keep up with this thread fast enough! Couple of things to report. Firstly 2 UU's:

Palmers Coco Butter Body Lotion 100ml. WIBA? It was ok...made me smell delicious but was a little bit sticky for my liking. So might have to be a no I'm afraid.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 20ml. WIBA? No. To be honest I don't think it does anything for my hair. It was part of a gift set I got a while ago with 3 mini sachets in it and a mini shampoo and conditioner, which I also don't like (but am trying to use up!)

    And then 1 in:

Liz Earle Young Skin Kit. I didn't buy this, my mum somehow got it free at work! It's only mini mini sizes so I'm just going to use this and it will be gone in about a week!

I'm itching to buy some Redken hair products. I'm trying to resist but it might not be possible. I figure I'm down to one shampoo and conditioner after I finish my PK mini's tonight. Plus I'm getting a restyle on my hair next week and will want some nice products to stop it getting damaged....

Thanks for the advice fixx and roshydoshy, dug out an old kabuki brush and it seems to look pretty natural. Thanks!

Ooooh! I have a prostitute brush! :rotfl:  It's kind of like a small face brush where the bristles are all tightly packed together so it's quite hard iyswim, gives a good finish for mineral foundation or in my case pressed powder.

  • Sorry to hear about the job, Roshy, but Australia sounds incredible - and as Rosemary says, you can always come back!

One uu for me this morning: freebie of Womanity (hideous name!) perfume. WIBA? No, I'm not keen on sweet smelling perfumes, and already have my HG perfume (Pretty, by Elizabeth Arden)

One order, which I am extremely chuffed about! Just ordered Benefit powder time for £11.25 including delivery from Debenhams. I've wanted to try these for ages, but have always balked at the cost. Now I can try the 3 colours for half of the price of one! I've only got one blusher at the moment that is probably 3 years old, so as soon as these arrive, it's going in the bin! I'm just hoping the powders will survive delivery.

I'm currently weighing up the clinique bonus time offer too... I don't actually need anything but would like to get the deep comfort body butter, hand cream and the take the day off cleansing balm. There's no way I could afford all that though! Must stay strong... :(

If I'm at home, I use a Kabuki brush, or a big bronzer brush with my pressed powder, just seems to give a better finish. If I'm out and about, then the pad/sponge that came with it is fine.
I do that too. ELF studio brushes (about £3.50 each) are fab for this. Their kabuki is to die for as is their flat-headed powder brush. I think a brush gives a lighter and more even finish than a sponge.
