Sorry guys, quick question re: mascaras. Do you open them to check them? I don't normally open them until I'm going to use them. But after reading some posts, worried about some of the 'older' new ones having gone dry. And worried abt opening them to check.
What would you recommend? TIANo buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

Need eye makeup remover soon. didn't get on with no7, didn't remove waterproof stuff unless I really rubbed eyes. Same with UD one. Benefit one was better, but clinique my favourite so far. Any suggestions? Which L'Or!al one do you guys use. I tried one but wasn't too keen on it
My suggestion would be Body Shop's Camomile eye makeup remover. I found it works well, and is gentle and doesn't sting my eyes like some I've tried. Also it isn't oily - my eyelids get a bit puffy with the oily ones.mineallmine wrote: »Just to say I love this
PRCP = Pink Rose Candle Philosophy - basically use the lovely stuff now, today, don't hesitate. Read Mc29's sig.
Erma Bombeck: "If I had my life to live over ..I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' or 'for a special occasion'. Every day is special. Cherish it and make it so.
What a lovely quote and it makes total sense, although I'm very guilty of keeping things "for best" like a lot of people on here I guess. I just need to make my heart catch up with my brain .... I end up with the whole "I'll miss it when its gone/all finished" thing.mcculloch29 wrote: »Just to let you know I've emailed off eight labels -that's got to be an awful lot of toiletries! Huge thanks to Yorkielass for the original post that enabled all this.
Yes my huge thanks to Yorkielass, and also huge thanks to you mcculloch29 for emailing the labels. :T Each label you emailed may well have been printed out more than once don't forget. My box was too heavy so I split it into two boxes, each coming in at 1800g or so. I have felt very thankful to be able to take part in this appeal.
I might put a basic list on later, of what I sent. But embarrassingly it doesn't seem to have made much a dent in my stash. I might have to do a similar thing on a monthly basis .... like some others on here, I think I will do some research to see if there is anywhere local I can support.
I am so happy I didn't wait until 1 March to join this thread, as I would have missed it.
Thanks everyone and hope you are all having a lovely weekend x0 -

Hi, I am the same as you, I don't open them until I'm going to use them. I haven't found any go dry yet. I think they are more likely to dry up once you have opened them, even if it is just for a quick check. So if you keep them unopened and away from direct sunlight I think they should keep fine.0 -
Hi sawan,
I agree with pinkandwhites, I never open a mascara until I need it because I worry about them drying up too
And well done for not buying anything at the market :jJanuary 2020 GC - £151.09/£180

Hello guys
Brilliant link to the make up savvy blog - sorry can't find who posted it but thanks!
Also enjoyed the mouldy soap link, :rotfl:- I would personally cut off the mouldy bits and enjoy it! It's not like you're eating it after all.
Sounds like people are having a mixed bag this weekend - more hugs to LyndseyDee and Sawan.
My day started off consumer free - an hour walk in the midday sunshine through the Lea Valley Park to feed the swan family with the bf. Then I found out that the divvy in my work Tescos had given me the wrong DVD one day for the Daily Mail offer (Larkrise to Candleford) so had to head to the local (ghost) town to try and get the missing one! Unfortunately to get to WH Smiths, had to go by Superdrug and Boots....then back via Savers and £land....well sort of in that diretion
Couldn't resist the bargain corner.....thought it would be fun to try and work out how to post pics so here goes....

Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -

Well a massive round of applause to Yorkielass :T:T:T for spotting the Give & Make up offer
A huge round of applause to Mcculloch29 :T:T:Tfor all the labels and stuff
I think you two are now our designated "charity/good will" spotters. So if you find out about any other ways we can good will our stuff that will be great.
I didn't do it this time, only because I sorted a load of bits for my in laws. But how nice to think that all you guys who donated stuff are helping others. I bet they will be inundated! Group hug!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi everyone.
One IN to report, my Glamour magazine arrived in the post with a Clinique lip gloss. I'm always happy to have a freeby but I already have loads of make up, I was hoping for a moisturiser!!
I will do my best not to buy any more copies of the magazine just to get the freebies but I suppose it depends on my willpower on the day!!
I will try not to buy anything in March, but I am happy that I am buying a lot less since joining this thread and thinking very carefully before I spend any money! No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018

An out for me :-) it was a L'oreal wrinkle decrease serum - donated it to my mum who has a wrinkle phobia - I'm sure I got this off the reduced section last year and used a skinnie so paid about £1.50 for it - Mum is off to Lanzarote on thursday for 3 weeks (lucky thing) so I've explained how to use a serum and she has promised to use it every day - in which case according to the box - she'll be wrinkle free and have skin as smooth as a babys bum when she gets back:D:D:D:D
I've no more UU's or ins to report - although I'm having a real battle with myself over buying some shampoo - I've got that urge - not that I need any:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:Save money on toiletries: no new/duplicate items until I've used up all existing supplies
