I wouldn't recommend too much body scrubbing, you only want to get rid of dead skin, not scrub so much that skin gets raw or sore. Once a week sounds about right, maybe more if you have dry/flaky skin. Body scrub is good to use the day before waxing or to get rid of fake tan.

I do it before shower and once dry slather on lots of body butter an old nightie and dressing gown then sit and watch tv before bedtime so hopefully the butter will sink into skin really well.I have psoriasis over most of my back and tops of legs so it is good to scrub the old skin off but agree once a week is about right.

We can't decide whether to go dancing or swimming tonight!DH said well now we have joined the social club maybe we should dance BUT I said well the pool membership is a lot more!!!Told him I need to know as not only will we eat earlier if we dance rather than after a swim but I will need to shower/wash hair/redo nails plus choose an outfit for dancing:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:(and we did go to a dance on friday!)

Rosemary I would say go swimming, have something nice to eat (and drink) after and watch Got to Dance on TV. Best of both worlds:)

Re scrubs, I use Breakfast scrub a couple of times a week on upper arms and thighs, when I run out of scrubs those scrubby gloves do the job well too.

Just to let you know I've emailed off eight labels -that's got to be an awful lot of toiletries! I've been really happy to do this - it's given me a very warn glow ... I used to do quite a bit of community work and since I've become disabled I've had to cut it right down. I love to help rather than to be the recipient of help (or the perceived recipient of help) and I'm feeling really upbeat today.
Huge thanks to Yorkielass for the original post that enabled all this.

Just a thought - should they have gone mouldy? Maybe you could email Lush? If they went mouldy in an airtight tub, that's a bit naff.

I would be a bit wary of using anything mouldy as inhaling mould spores isn't a good idea to say the least. The other thought is, is it mould, or is it just the chemicals /products leaching out of the soap/shampoo bar?

Well, they still smell lovely :(, but they have a white 'fluff' around them, so even though its not green or grey, I assume it is mould... I might do as you say and e-mail them. I've no Lush shops nearby, so it's a train journey into town to get to the nearest one, so I'm really upset about the 'loss'...

Anyway, I went the whole of the weekend with no ins, and one uu: dove (sample) conditioner, not great, so wnba.

I have been trying to use up but everything still seems full :(

and after I avoided the BS deal, my dad bought me a moringa gift set and some boots body butters:eek: I have kept the moringa gift set (because people here recommended it:o) but the butters are going to my gift stash.

Plus I have made a box for give and makeup, just need to stick the label on. I haven't made a note of what I put in, it was just things I liked but would never get round to using and some samples I had. I thought my stash was quite small now, but I still managed to fill up the box quite quickly! Also put in my jlo perfume which I don't like:T

I wondered if anyone else had come across this - and they have. The general consensus seems to be that the mould is harmless.

I reckon you could scrape the mould off with a blunt knife and use the bars safely, but don't store them in airtight boxes, that's optimum conditions for mould growth apparently.

My daughter (who has seen the Avon lady this week) says that the order did arrive after all so she's going to have to return that one. I will order a brown from her though.

That's a link to a blog post that is all about the Clinique and Glamour offer (sorry I forgot to quote it)

we will be flying to tenerife the day it comes out so no idea if it will be on sale at the airport or how many different ones they will have ....I love moisture surge so hope they have that one,got loads of lippy and mascara so hope not them!

Thanks for posting link to the blog. Will have to try and get the eye cream, moisturiser and lip glosses. Lucky you flying off to Tenerife next week. Whereabouts are you staying? We love the Costa Adeje area.
Can I ask how often you guys use a body scrub?

I have 3 unopened ones, plus one spluttering one. I'm not a fan of them, they were all either gifts or part of a set. Really want to use them up! I am only using them once a week at mo, on a Sunday. But wondered if I could use them 2/3 times a week to speed up getting through them?!

    Cheers

    x

I scrub 2-3 times a week. If I don't my moisturisers don't work at this time of year.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Thanks so much McCulloch! I feel reassured:T, I shall try using the shampoo bar then :D No point keeping it unless I can use it... and I'm fed up with the TK Maxx shampoo anyway.
