 Here's to that!
I have noticed this weird habit I have - I can say no to something twice but the third time I crumble. This happened to me with the BS offer.
I can also say no when something is readily available then the minute it's sold out or not on offer I decide I desperately needed it. This was the case with the big pink S&G tote bag at Christmas...(yes I got one in the end and love it)
I also like the quote in your signature - that is sooooo true. I nodded in agreement the first time I saw that. Wish I could think of something deep and meaningful to put in mine!! :rotfl:Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Evening everyone
Loving the good vibes about the Give and Makeup boxes - it has inspired me to do some local research and I found out that a refuge close to where I live would be very grateful of donations so I am sorting out a box out for them and my DS1 & 2 are going to donate some of their stash aswell :j Bless them!!
So many thanks to who posted the original poster as I would never have thought about this, and also thanks to the lady who posted the story of how it's gratefully received (sorry, don't know how to do quotes..)
No UU's up here, off to bodyshop tomorrow to spend my voucher - so excited :T
I totally agree with you juliebunny about not being able to say no for the third time - we must be STRONG!!
As for being strong (3rd attempt you see, I broke)I went to Lloyds today and bought a few bits,
whoops! My DS2 came with me and was desperate to try the Beyonce perfume (he's very *special*!) and the lovely sales asst gave him 2 samples in little bottles! He's over the moon!

Ah this is lovely.:T Actually I was thinking that my stash isn't going to be that bad at all as well once I've pulled out my parcel bits - feels a relief to be getting ridding of them, where I didn't feel able to chuck them away because I'm trying not to be wasteful. Now I'm getting into the swing of it I actually realise how many of my products I would happily get rid off.....it's been eye opeing...
I have a tall cabinet in my bathroom (4 shelves) where I keep all my toiletries 'for use next' or 'to be used up' - as you sit on the loo you can open the door and browse through/sort it out, so I've been multi-tasking tonight - sorry is this TMI :rotfl:- can't wait to get my lovely BS stuff in their instead of all the toot I don't need or appreciate!
:grouphug: Ah thanks (embarrased but along with everyone else on here feeling warm and fuzzy)...
I am totally on board with you for March frugalities. I want to have some money left at the end of March. The buying stuff has to stop. I told someone at work today to take the Daily mail away from me because I was just about to cut a buy some homey magazine for a pound out of it. He enforced this even when I begged for it back!
I want to learn to appreicate what I have without forever looking for something better. Well, I mean I can look - but have to learn not to buy. Luckily I'm immune to QVC (stop posting links - I am compelled to click them!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) so far as I think their charges are too high and I have problems getting packages at home so am more a store shopper.
If you could give up smoking that would be the most amazing thing...not going to nag, I know that doesn't work...but imagine each packet of ciggies as a toiletries/clothes item of that price
Oh that is so true about Next toiletries - they are soooo boring and nothingy. Except I like their perfumes. I have 2 Next mini items straight in my OUT donation pile.
:rotfl:@ your colleague! So...frugal March it is! I'm with you on learning to appreciate what I already have, and I should include my OH in that, I think I take him for granted sometimes
I know I really need to quit smoking - for lots of reasons! I just can't help but think that smoking helps define who I am...crazy I know! I've been offered tablets at the Doctors and some crazy group counselling thing!!!! So it's something to think seriously about. I always said I'd give it up at 30 (next January) so the deadline is looming!! I think I needto get my obsessive eating behaviour and lack of exercise at least halfway under control before I can think about giving up my crutch though!
I like Next perfumes tooUsed one up last year and it was lovely! Unfortunately Id chucked the packaging away ages before so couldn't find out what it was called :rotfl:

:jI've finally caught up! Despite being behind on the thread and not posting I've been good and only bought a couple of essentials...will list those and UUs tomorrow.
I'm particularly proud that I resisted the John Lewis Clarins offer and BS Groupon voucher.:AI realised, as many of you have, that I would probably not get around to using any new Clarins products for a year; so can buy nice fresh products nearer the time. It does make the bargainous offers seem great, but not great for me.
Jacks SD and their staff ought to be ashamed, well done for taking a stand.:T:T
Sawan82 what a horrible situation to be in. Take care of yourself. I hope you're slowly feeling better and that the retail therapy has helped a little.0 -
[toiletries arent rare or hard to get hold of and there's also lots of offers all year round [/QUOTE]
So true, must remember this next time I see a seemingly good offer.0 -
