Are Debt managers owned by Littlewoods? Therefore they have sold the debt to themselves. Its just a thought.

I'm soo confused now.
I havent yet made any payments. Just wanted proof that DCA OWN the debt like they (& Littlewoods) said they do.
This is doin my head in.
Can anyone suggest what I do next??I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Did you PM the person in the link in post #15?FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0

The letter from DM Ltd says they have closed their file. Surely this means they have abandoned their claim (because they can't substantiate it) so stop worrying. No reliance should be placed on the above.0

When Hubby called them (its his account) to make arrangements last week, the woman said "if you ever miss a payment then we WILL take court action"I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I would agree with johnbrooks, fuzzgun 19. I'm not 100% sure as I have not had any dealings with dca's etc but I've read something about a deed of assignment which the company are supposed to send you if they have sold on the debt. You can also request this but it really sounds to me as though littlewoods have not sold the debt. Sorry you are confused now - that wasn't my intention. If I were in your shoes though, I wouldn't be paying anything until you have all the relevant info.

The OP in that link seems to have won against a DC - and, I must admit, I don't know the circumstances but I thought maybe he might have some insight into how to deal with them. Sorry for the confusion.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0 -
another thing, don't make any arrangements over the phone, communicate by letter only and their letter that they have now closed the file is enough to not make any payments IMOThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. I have tried contacting Littlewoods/Mebt Managers, and they havent sent me any proof.
