Absolutely - I can't see what else the letter can mean and its dated AFTER your OH had his conversation. I wouldn't pay a penny. I would keep the letter very carefully! No reliance should be placed on the above.0

The poster in No.15 may well have got his costs because the Debt Collector couldn't produce the document! Why not PM him and ask?No reliance should be placed on the above.0

Yes - and therefore they can't enforce the debt.No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

If you withheld the £10 payment, what's the worst that could happen? They could send you another letter suggesting court action, but as other posters have pointed out, you could then set up a payment plan before it ever got to court.
If it makes you feel better, a couple of days before the payment is due, you could buy a £10 postal order which will be date stamped by the post office. Then, if you get another letter, you could then post it and blame the delay on Royal Mail or
you could do nothing and see what follows.
In your situation, I would do nothing. Your requests have not been fulfilled - ie signed credit agreement etc. You have letters from both littlewoods and debt managers saying they are not pursuing the debt or words to that effect so I really would just sit tight for now.

Write them a letter asking what they meant by "closing the file". You now have two letters which seem to imply that no one is pursuing the debt. You are slowly building up a good case to present at a hearing, if it ever comes to that.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0

If you pay anything now -it could be used against you as an admission of guilt.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0

I wouldn't worry about that until it happened, which it won't because they have closed their file! Seriously, I don't think any court would enforce this debt UNLESS they can produce the agreement and they say they can't.No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

Dont suppose you could give me an idea of what to write?
TBH I don't think hubby would be willing to go to court, think he'd rather just pay to shut them up.
I'm not sure what to do.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0
