    Morning everyone.

I am stuck at work today. :( Luckily I only work 2 days a week (Mon/Thurs).

This weekend went far too quick! It was my birthday on Friday and the kids went to stay with my parents for Friday and Saturday, so I had a peaceful weekend!

Wasn't a very MSE weekend though. Went to the pictures and watched "The Kings Speech", OH bought me a new watch (more than what we wanted to spend, but hey ho). Meal out at the pub and drinks.

Hopefully everyone has a good day!

mioliere, glad your BIL is feeling good. Can I ask wehre you live? Hour difference, cold and snow hmmm?

    Hi Adelight

We live in south west France in the Deux-Sevres department, so just an hour ahead of the UK and, at the moment, just as cold. The snow didn't settle on Friday, luckily, but the sky looks full of it, so we haven't ruled it out!

Morning all! Just a quick Hi today. Eldest off school today as she has a raw, red throat...... dying swan act on the sofa with the duvet!!!
Anyhoo, off into town with my pal this afternoon when the little ones are at nursery. Gonna treat ourselves to lunch out. There's a place that does spicy chicken wraps for £1.99. Last of the big spenders!!!!!! Mooch around the library, and I desperately need a new pair of trainers, so will go and try some on and see what I like, then come home and find them on ebay! I would love to have something else to wear on my feet other than trainers. Something that looks ok. I walk a lot and can't do very flat shoes cos I get plantar tendon fasciitis ( heel pain), but anything with a heel ends up giving me burning soles! Any suggestions welcome. I would love something that I could wear with a skirt and not look like a right eejit like I do at the mo!!!!!

  • Good Morning All

Another beautiful day here. Frosty but sunny. Doesn`t the sunshine make everything look so much better :)

Forgot to bring towels in off the line last night and they are still frozen. WM on, DW to be unloaded/reloaded.
Must attack the ironing mountain after work. Can`t believe where it all comes from.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Hello all,
bit of a lurker, but wanted to pop in and say a Big Thankyou to the OS'er who a few weeks ago sugested popping a spoonful of Chili Jam into gravy to liven it up. I tried a spoonful in the stock for my Blind Scouse last night, and it was absoutley gorgeous!! So thankyou very much!

My H has this due to his running. How high a heel gives you burning soles? Sounds terrible but the more you wear heels the better it gets, you just have to break the pain barrier. I wear those party feet gel insoles which help massively with burning after dancing with 4 inch heels all night :o You could perhaps look at heels between 1-2 inches high and see how you get on? Beware of the hight sizes listed on ebay. I bought a lovely pair of stilletoes on there as they were listed at 3 inches but infact are actually 4 :(

Good morning to everyone -old and new!-hope the ill are getting better and the well are sharing the secret!

As usual i am considering a new purchase! A lap top for work and use at home--i have a dilema because out here they are 50pc more expensive than the uk but i can get 36months interest free on one.--our business will buy it but be deducted off my salary -it will then be a tax deduction in the accounts.--its all rather complicated(as usual). i do wish i had a simple financial life!!--the alternative is wait til we return to the uk and buy --and make do with what we have for 5 months.--my daughter is getting a bit restless but it isnt urgent.

Does anyone have a small mortgage(around 30k)--how does it all balance out in these days when mortgage companies seem to want 500 to 999 to go for a deal?-i am thinking ahead if rates move off the 'bottom' and whether i pay down some of my mortgage.

Anyway--its holidays here for teachers so no kids and a relaxed week in the De1amo household---DD has to go to college so mum and i are left to our own devices?
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.
