    Are you remembering to eat?!

Haha occasionally! My diet before this was so bad that the changes I have made have been pretty radical I suppose. My lunch most days was practically a full meal and then in a day I could quite easily eat a tin of pringles and a family size bag of sweets on top of everything else. I used to drink a lot of cider too and then takeaways after the pub. I'd never eat breakfast either but now I am only snacking on WW free foods like fruit and veg and having salads with most of my meals meaning I can reduce my intake of things like chips! I have also replaced diet coke with water and am only drinking a can a day in comparison to the 5/6 I had before which seems to be filling me up a lot more!

I think the difference is this time that I was starting to feel bad about myself rather than just in myself so felt like something major had to change. My shopping total has increased a huge amount but if my waist line shrinks then it will all be worth it :) Just hoping I get a consultants appointment soon so I can start doing some exercise that fits in with my current pacing plans. I think all you Everest climbers are magnificent!

jasonwatkins - That sounds like a plan! If 5 stone is the currently record I could smash that, though I wonder how they'd work out the odds ..? :/

They give you the odds based on your weight - so if you're 18 stone, as an example, you'll get 18-1. The maximum bet they'll take is £50 quid.

You do, however, need a letter from your GP stating that it is safe for you to diet and this is where i've run in to a brick wall.

I just wondered if anyone else had tried something similar and if so, how they'd managed to get the GP to sign off on it. The person i've been dealing with from William Hill has told me that they've taken loads of bets like this in the past so i'm just a bit frustrated that my GP is digging her heels in.

Once is bad enough but twice beanie:eek:. I bet 2nd time you wondered what you had done to deserve this!
And I definitelythink you have more to cope with than me :p

Had a good walk in the sunshine today - all the way to the cinema:D to enjoy a bit of Colin Firth. Sigh.

Off to cook myself some fish now - first meat in 8 days. A complete record for me as a meat lover. Converting to more raw (vegan)food in the hope of helping my health.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Congratulations on the weight loss! :T I do have to ask about diabetics not being able to eat chocolate though, as I've found that my son actually eats more chocolate now than he did before diagnosis (before exercise - as advised by his consultant)! It seems strange that we are being told different things, are you a diet controlled diabetic though? My son is insulin controlled, so that may be where the different approaches come in.

I am on insulin as well, and use chocolate when I am low on sugar, but the diabetic nurse says I am being a very bad diabetic because there is a lot of fat in chocolate and that is bad for someone on a diet. It is much slower then sugar tablets and the sugar tablets are measureable. Anyway.

Loved the desert recipe. Can't wait to try it.
