Yup, it is indeed escher - the only picture I could think of with stairs lol :D
The little 'gingerbread man' is Domo Kun, he's a Japanese TV mascot and he's awesome :) Check him out on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H39XaynZHRA
I think I'll put him back now, Escher's just not as lively!

    Hey guys,

Sorry I've been AWOL all week. I've been stuck in spreadsheet hell, and really do not have the gift for spreadsheets that the likes of our Fred does, that's for sure. However, when the last training in PC's I did was back in about 1987, to use a word processing package (back in the days when the text was bright green on a dark green screen) the fact that I can even create a formula at all on Excel is nothing short of a minor miracle.

Anyway, I digress. I've been so engrossed in other stuff, that being able to pop in here for a chat, or anywhere else for that matter, has gone by the wayside. I've just had a read up to check how you've all been doing. Well done on the step climbing. I'd have loved to join in, but even I know that it's unrealistic, and I've only managed to go to the gym once this week anyway, so I feel guilty enough already.

Vix - glad the op is out of the way now. Recuperation is always difficult, but it looks like you're seeing life from a perspective you never imagined yourself in. At least you will be out of that wheelchair permanently soon, which I am sure makes you very grateful for the ability you have, and all us able bodied people take for granted.

Beanie - I'm not climbing anywhere, or lifting anything other than what I might do at the gym (if I get there), so you're not alone having to watch these young lively things run up and down the stairs. :D We can sit back and cheer them on, and marvel at their energy... personally, I'm doing that whilst drinking copious cups of tea, and planning recipes for cakes, how about you?

Food has at least been more back on track this week, and I did get a -1lb loss this week, although I forgot to post it on the chart, but if you can put that on for next week for me fred, in case I forget to post again, I'd be grateful. Thx.

What this past couple of weeks has taught me though is that when I'm much busier in the day, it means meal-planning is essential. I'm used to having more time to consider these things for the family, whereas I'm now occupied in so many other things, that despite still being at home all day, my mind is focussed elsewhere, and mealtimes seem to creep up on me without any warning (or planning)! That means bad decisions, which are often easier/lazier ones can be made.

Victory, if you're still browsing the thread, but don't feel able to contribute, know that we are still thinking about you, and hope you are coping as best you can.

    Hi everyone

I'm not climbing stairs as I live in a flat and don't want to annoy the neighbours - however, I'm doing an hour in the gym every other day and swimming 10 lengths most days so hopefully I'll start to lose once more

Bought 3 new sets of swimwear today - that made me feel better and look better at the pool

I'm trying Zumba tomorrow for the first time too

sgtg 1674' thats your total to date not what youve done today right? if im wrong then you must have really worked your butt off all day long to get a result like that and well done you :-) Like you say... you're definitely back in the game :-) and i'm glad the gingerbread man's back too - it's the only avatar on here that i find myself drooling over, lol

I did too much yesterday and i'm paying the price today.
Total number of stair flights climbed today= 10 :(

Sary - spreadsheet hell? aw! If its excel that you use I'll gladly set them all up for you if you like - or teach you some shortcuts and formulae if you'd rather diy. You know im on facebook if you need anything
