WOW, That is amazing! Congratulations!!! :T

Well, I've just measured my stairs (thought I'd do it before I forgot!). They measure 100", or 8.33 ft. Right, I really must get on with my assignment now - MUST STOP PROCRASTINATING!!!

blink_sumday - omg!!!! thats amazing - whats your secret??? I could do with a few weeks like that! Or maybe a few months of those weeks!! lol

As for the Everest challenge - I'd love to get on board with that, although I'm not sure I'd make even close to going up and down stairs 40 odd times a day!! At least its something to aim for :D

I've just looked it up and apparently its 8848m or 29029ft from top to bottom! Eeekk!
  • Thanks Lolly and Dory :) Whenever I start things like this I seem to do very well first week then go on to 1lb a week weight loss but that suits me. That said, the last few weeks I have been eating so much crap that mainly I've just cut that out and snacked on salad/fruit rather than crisps but seems to have done the job! Hopefully I can get another loss next week and get out of the 30+ bmi group but as I'm restricted with exercise I know that makes it more difficult!

Are you guys both DIY plans or do you follow something strictly?

    Morning y'all.

I did a forum search for Insanity and came here (I usually don't venture out of the competitions forum) :rotfl:

Anyway, I saw an advert this morning for Insanity Workout (www.tryinsanity.co.uk) by Shaun T and some of the posters here have done/do this workout.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a cheap DVD package as over hundred quid seems quite steep and I have gym membership at the moment or if anyone has finished their 60 day challenge and willing to loan me theirs for 60 days (I'll send it back honest) :D

    Anyway, thanks for reading.

Hey hun. I do this workout (except I don't really follow the actual routines that you're meant to follow for the 60 days, just do some of the ones I like, mix it up with P90x), but now I'm doing TurboFire as it's really fun and hard at the same time. Still very much prefer the intenseness of Insanity though.

Unfortunately I don't actually have the DVD's. I downloaded them online, and workout using the laptop in the kitchen. :o I drive my mum crazy lol, as it's mostly when she's trying to cook and i keep her out of the kitchen. :D

Puddings was going to climb to base camp on Everest.

There are 2 routes (South East and North East) SE base camp at 5360m (17585ft) or a climb of 565ft or 175m per day during March. If your stairs are 8.5ft tall that is a climb of 67 times per day :j

NE base camp is at 5180m (16990ft) or a climb of 167m (548ft) per day during March. If you stairs are 8.5ft tall that is a climb of 65 times per day :j.

Sir Edmund Hillary climbed the SE route.

Blink - I do Weight watchers although I can't get to meetings as I work evenings so I do it online which is ok i guess but I think I'd prefer to go to meetings just to kinda get that validation each week. I've had a break from it the past couple of months as I've had a few things going on (mostly linked to separating from my husband and having to move into rented accommodation with my 6 yr old) but I'm determined that whatever else is going on my weight will disappear!!! So I 'start' again tomorrow in earnest and keep my fingers crossed I can report a massive weight loss next week too :D

Thanks for replying. Maybe I should download em too :rotfl: ;) I need to lose a stone and also tone up my podgy belly :D I attend the gym 5 times a week but when I saw the advert for it this morning, I was like, "OMG!" :rotfl:

Congratulations! And welcome to the team, I'm on low carb too (apart from the odd chocolate binge every now and again :rotfl:).

Thanks lolly101, I'm well aquainted with chocolate binges - I had a major one last week until I got my head into low carb mode :o
