Welcome to the thread :jcharlie792 wrote: »Hi everyone!
Just found this thread and would love to join the 5lb a month challenge and to join the Welsh team too...
Will update with my weight in a bit
EDIT: Starting weight 10stone 3 (144.2lbs) - shockingly Ive lost 7lbs since I last weighed myself and Ive been dead lazy recently too haha
Sadly you've missed the Welsh team for this time - that challenge finished on Wednesday - the challenge for March is diet plans - Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Other plans, DIY healthy eating & Increase exercise. Let me know if you'd like to join in (and which team) and I'll add you to the list.alliwantistosave wrote: »Fred - I don't know if I should join the challenge or not i'm not sure how much more weight I am wanting to loose at presentSo can I just carry on as I am at the moment Thank you :A
Of course - the challenges are optional
How did you measure the stairs? Height in a straight line (ie over the bannister) or distance up the steps themselves?
If anyone would like me to do a chart & graph or something for the stair challenge let me know.0 -
Hi all ...
My mother wants to join Weight Watchers UK - but she lives in France ... the UK says that she will need to join the French version - but as she doesn't speak French this an issue ... is there a way she can join the UK one?

If she's doing WW online, would she be able to sign up from your UK address and use it that way? I don't know how WW online works though - if she has to be 'officially' weighed by a doctor or something it wouldn't work, but if it's just a self-assessment thing where she could weigh herself once a week, and you could forward on and letters sent to her that could work?
I guess the other solution would be to try the French meeting with a bilingual friend to help her sign up - and maybe learn the language of the country she's living in as a bi-product?

Hi Samantha
Yes, you are more than welcome to join us. We are just about to start a new round of challenges if you want to join in? I find that they (usually!) help to keep me motivated. There is a 5lb a month challenge, and a group challenge. This month it's the battle of the diet plans!
The teams are... Slimming World vs Weight watchers vs other plans vs DIY healthy eating and more exercise. If you would like to join a team just let fredsnail know your preferred team and starting weight. We weigh in weekly and Fred posts a chart on wed nights with everyone's results, plus that week's challenge results.0 -
Hello Hamish, Charlie and Samantha - it's good to have you with us for the new challenge!
Countrymusicfan - it's great to have achievable goals, which is why I love the 5lb challenge and things like thatI'm a bit confused by your post though - have you already lost 10 dress sizes or is that what you're hoping for, because that would be 20"? Is 7st10 your 'ideal' weight then? I know mine's around 10-11st and I'm 5'7"

Hiya,
I was wondering if its okay if I joined you guys! I tried a few months ago but found that my CFS got worse as I put pressure on myself and so motivation drifted away at a very alarming pace! I live with some friends who don't have any such worries so could really use the support structureJoined online Weight Watchers last Sunday so weigh in tomorrow - Starting weight 13st13lbs and hoping to lose something in the region of 2 1/2 - 3 stone but definitely putting less pressure on myself this time round! Does anyone have any ideas for low impact exercise? I am on a strict pacing plan so can't really do anything like go to the gym but would love some ideas for things to do around the house if any of you clever lot have any ideas
Thanks and look forward to hopefully sharing all of your successxx

Hi welcome to the thread.
Rosemary Connolly dvds have different levels - some that are low impact - the older ones are very reasonable on amazon.
I can put you down for the team challenge for WW if you want?0
