Lose Weight 32

Evening all. I forgot to weigh in this morning, but after my SW weigh in on Monday, I had a disappointing 2lb gain. The indulgences of the past few weeks have finally caught up with me. Trying to get more focussed again. Could really do with doing a bit of shopping, but trying hard not to spend £ when I don't have to, so it's eating out of the cupboards and more planning needed by me. I'm simply not motivated for cooking meals at the mo, unsurprising when I spend so much time baking now.
I did manage to get back into the gym again today, so when I do have the days free, I am going to make sure I keep my trips there more regular.
I had a trip out to Harrogate yesterday, and we did quite a bit of walking then. We had to get back to the car in a hurry, and were making our way down a steep hill, and my right knee really hurt. I think I damaged it when I was in my 20's walking down Covent Garden underground stairs, which go down, and down, and down. I had to go down them at a fair speed, to keep up with the large crowd I was in, and I was pretty overweight then too, so I think this is an old niggle that's come back to haunt me after 20 yrs. Didn't stop me on the rower and bike today, which is a bonus.
Vix and Eric, brilliant news for both of your wardrobe achievements this week!
Will try to pop in when I can. I try to read as much as I can. Have a great week everyone. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Betty, a marathon is 26.2 miles = 42.2 km, so a half marathon would be 21.1km i think0

have just watched that dead fat, i never knew that fat was bright yellow, i thought it was a cream colour lol. Does make you more motivated though to change.PAD Maker0

There is 1.609 kms in a mile.
I've done the chart and am battling to upload it so hopefully it won't be as long to post as last week!0 -

This weeks quote is from Owen Feltham:
"The greatest results in life are usually attained by simple means and the exercise of ordinary qualities. These may for the most part be summed in these two: common-sense and perseverance."0 -
now I have to go back and check how long a half marathon is in km (I use 'map my run' to work out how far i go, and it measures it in km not miles)
Hi BettyB
I have just looked at 'map my run' and under options you can change the measurements to miles. Not Rachmaninov

Hi everyone
I used to be a regular member of this thread many moons ago when it was back in its Teens. (Dellybelly) !
I just wanted to share a link to a tv program that was on here in Northern Ireland last monday night called Dead Fat
For those of you who are very overweight and struggling to motivate yourself - this might be the boot up the behind you need.
Hope you dont mind me popping in.. I may be back again soon for some extra motivation!
Take care
Delly
Hi Delly  , good to see you again.
I've just watched that programme, and for anyone who might be slightly lacking in motivation, thinking they can get away with having a few extra calories, just take a look and see what it does to you in the long term.
The presenter was a very charismatic guy, but I was absolutely shocked to find out he was only 37! I thought he was in his late 40's at least, possibly 50's.
Incidentally, Kim Bleakley's (Christine's sister) experience in the show, of getting an outfit for her 18th birthday, and only being able to fit into a maternity size 22, is exactly the reason why I decided to lose weight after my 21st, when i had to buy a maternity dress for my birthday/Christmas parties. I was mortified, and did make a change. I've never got as big ever again, but am obviously constantly battling my tendency to gain weight very efficiently.
If you can get through the graphic, but not mega gory, part of the show, when they show the internal organs of a woman who has died from obesity, it's well worth a watch everyone. It's definitely the 'kick up the bum' quite a few of us ask for for time to time when we struggle to stay motivated. I've downloaded the episode so I can watch it again and again.... I need regularly motivating!:rotfl:One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Did Day 26 of Insanity this morning: Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs.
After dropping off the kids, decided to go for a jog instead of the gym. I jogged all the way only stopping for a quick pee at Sainsbury's then jogged back home again. My legs were lead. My thighs were aching. I could hardly lift my legs up but knew I had to get back home somehow so plodded on.
Jogged 3.49 miles x 2 = so 6.98 miles (or 11 km) in total. Took me a whopping 1½ hoursSECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:
