He now looks more like a Spitting Image puppet than his original Spitting Image puppet. He'd be a laughing stock if he wasn't so dangerous and evil.

He became a laughing stock in the 80s. Nothing has changed apart from now he is killing his own people live on TV.

What happened in the US Ireland Spain can't happen here eh?

A perfect example of you failing to look at the big picture.

Ireland: Housing vacancy rate = 17% (and rising)

USA: Housing vacancy rate = 11% (and rising)

UK: Housing vacancy rate = 3% (and falling rapidly)

All of the above countries had near ZIRP, government assistance for banks, liquidity support, homeowner support, etc.... But significantly different performance of house prices.

There is, by the way, only one western democracy with even lower vacancy rates than the UK. It has a similar expansion of population and households, and it's house prices have exceeded their former peak by some margin. "Can you tell where it is yet?"

    But due to inflation.

Ireland : ability to pay a mortgage (falling rapidly)
USA : ability to pay a mortgage (falling rapidly)
UK : ability to pay a mortgage (falling rapidly)

It's good to see Libyan diplomats worldwide stepping down in protest at the violence used against protesters. Never mind that many of them have worked for the same regime for many years and may be doing so with one eye to their own future career longevity.

Gadaffiduck has had his 'Ceauşescu moment.

N.B. I'm very worried for the 'umin rights of Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi, he may be violated in Libyan jail. Much better to recall him to Barlinnie for his own safety!

I've just been watching Al Jazeera. There are 30,000 Philippino 60,000 Bangladeshi and 23,000 Thai workers stuck in Libya. China is trying to evacuate the 30,000 Chinese workers there by ship, but many nations aren't doing anything to withdraw their people. It must be awful. Clearly you can't get this number of people out by plane and it would take a lot of ships.
