Please can I set budget of £250 for Feb? Still quite large for 2 adults, 2 children but half what we usually spend and about a third of what it was a year ago (seriously!!). Low for this month due to going on holiday and having lots in the freezer. Will go back up next month no doubt!
thanksh0 -
Afternoon all, many thanks to the fab ladies that start this thread, my Feb GC started last weds and once more is at £100.00 per week. This is for me, my dad (home this month) 2 teens, 2 little ones, 1 teen and 1 little one 2 days a week and a toddler for 2,5 days per week oh and 3 cats and 2 dogs . so far i have spent £9.44 in herons (27th), £11.18 in herons (today) £7.00 in butchers and £2 in b&m so will round it to £30 (which is wrong as i only have £65.00 in the purse :rotfl::rotfl:) (i may have bought some milk at some point .0

spent £44.58 in MR T'S altho i did get 24 cream eggs
and a few bits and peices for the freezer, i still need to get a sack of spuds but they'll last us 2-3 weeks anyway
DEC GC £463.67/£450
EF- £110/COLOR]/£10000 -
Forgot to get spuds and ran out of eggs so nipped to Mr M with DH and DS in tow. Big mistake. £12 odd later left with spuds, eggs, crisps, pasties, beer and 2 milky bar moo cows (supposed to be for DS but he is too litte so I had to make sure it didn't go to waste:o)
I have decided to remove alcohol from the budget as this is our entertainment as we tend to have nights in our friends round and I feel it skews my budget. I think I will stick to £300 for 5 weeks shopping, £60 week for 2 adults, 1 baby and 2 dogs. I am sure there is room for improvement there but if I could set a budget and stick to it it would be a first:o I spent £350 in 4 weeks in Jan so this will be a bit better.
I also received £40 of Mr S vouchers on Saturday after taking out a product with them last year:T These will help me keep the spends down as we have lots to pay for this month. Will still aim to spend £300 but £260 will be cash and £40 will be vouchers.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Hi everyone can I join please?
I was going to join last month but instead saved all my receipts to see what we spent as well as eating as much from the freezer/cupboards etc. I have an up to date freezer/cupboard inventory and have enough to last 2 weeks (apart from perishables) so for me (vegetarian) DansDad (carnivore), 3 porky cats and one old girl with not many teeth left, and the Long Suffering Dawg I hope to rein in at £175.00 this month please starting from tomorrow....:D
Last month I spent £197.29 for all of us so would like to shave it to about £130 a month, but do it in bits
Thanks to everyone xxMFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

Afternoon
Thank you to Pink, Zippychick, Mrs M and Rosieben for starting the February thread - I have a lot of catching up to do!
As I'm annual now I thought I would try and stay below £800 by the end of Feb as I need to have a cheap month all round after DD2's birthday and having to buy a new cooker
I've got a T*sco shop coming tomorrow night and an A*da shop on Weds as well - I needed more A*da pepperoni pizzas as they are one of DS's staples! Shouldn't be more than about £90 for both and then I will make this lot last as long as possible. I'm hoping to do plenty of baking and HM pizzas and flans as I've got loads of 50p flour.
As I mentioned before I have to get back to planning - I've no excuse, I just CBA! I usually get a wave of organizational zeal on the first of the month so hopefully tomorrow I'll tackle all this.
Anyway, many thanks to all the people who contribute to the thread - reading it always helps me get over my little bouts of apathy and get a grip!!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
could you please put me down for £225 this month
upped it by £25 this month to allow for extra treats for valentines day as rather than go out we're gonna eat in.
anyone seen any good offers on eggs? scrambled egg seems to be the in thing at the mo and using about a dozen a day  & thats making a huge dent in the budget.
thanks to everyone who keeps this thread going :T yet to come in on budget but keeping tabs on here really helps to limit the damagethis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0
