As I mentioned 3 times early in this thread waterpark is available from £5 per person!
Saving needed to emigrate to Oz
    *September 2015*

    £11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

  • just wanted to say thanks again to the op...stayed thursday night and had a fab time-didnt use the spa or waterpark but was great just to relax!

The food in The Secret Garden was lovely (pricey but worth it in my opinion) - both evening meal and breakfast. They will prob tell you when u get to reception but breakfast is £8 if you book in when u arrive rather than £12 if you pay when you eat.

Did anyone else find the lift a tad freaky :D?

The hotel is The Alton Towers hotel and it is huge (somewhere near 550 rooms), the beer in the bar is £3.00 pint for Fosters and £3.10 for Guinness, the food is awful (and overpriced) although breakfast is @ £8.95 a head and not that bad but there are excellent places to eat outside of the complex, Ye Olde Star Inn at Oakamoor for one, see the link below for others. The Caribba Creek water park is great, nice and clean and open to hotel guests approx 1h30 mins before opening to the general public. The rooms are very plush, Orginal Source Shampoo, Imperial Leather shower gel and Foamburst + bar of imperial leather soap provided with a sign encouraging you to take them home with you!! Attractions at Alton Towers are sponsored by Imperial Leather. Tea and coffee making facilities in room, in room movies @ £7.90 each (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Chicken Little, Derailed, Pirates of the Carib 2, Cars and others). Waterpark is £8 for 4 year olds + so long as you book before you arrive (can be done by phoning) otherwise its £12. Woodland walk open all year round, shopping in nearby Stoke on Trent, antiques shopping in nearby Ashbourne, but IT WILL RAIN IF NOT SNOW :). All in all excellent value for £10/£20/£30

    I love the lifts :)

I was really disappointed with the lift in the splash landings hotel. We went across jut to have a go - and this time it didn't play the music!! How rude - it was the best part of my visit last time :rotfl:

We ate at the restuarant in Splash Landings - again, its pricey but we've eaten there before and as we like our food and can eat plenty we found it ok. Its a buffet so you can eat as much as you like - we can eat plenty
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

We were there Friday night. Unusually for A.T. Hotel check in was very slow - took 20 mins and we were the only ones checking in at the time.

We HAVE NOT been charged for the rooms - not yet at least. LM.com say that you pay the hotel, but the hotel say no they invoice lm.com No doubt we will get charged eventually.

Waterpark as usual was brilliant. Food in resteraunts I think is good, although a little expensive. food in quenchers (poolside bar in waterpark) is VERY expensive. Luckily we knew this so sneaked in some food.

We stayed in the waterpark from 12.00 until nearly 8.00, and had a fantastic time. It gets very quiet after about 6.00 so this is the ideal time to go on the slides without queueing.
