  • I received an email saying they were going to charge me £20 for cancelling as i wanted to change my day. I responded back to them with:

Thank you for your email regarding cancelling on the above order. As
you can see the order is only for £10, therefore it is not worth me
cancelling it and ending up paying you £20?? I thought someone would
have spotted this. Please do not cancel. The email sounded like it was
alread in the process of being cancelled, but i would have liked
something by email/phone first saying that this was the case.

    and i got this reply:

    Dear XXX

    Order Reference - 123456

    Thank you for your email.

Please note that your hotel booking under the order number 123456 has
been cancelled without any charges by the hotel.

Further, you have not been charged GBP 20.00 as an administration fee by
lastminute.com as we have not charged you for this booking.

Therefore, no refund is due to you from our end.

I appreciate your understanding with regard to this matter.

    Kind regards,

So its worth getting back to them, to make sure you wont be charged.

If you have anything more than a straightforward booking, LM.com / Alton Towers don't seem to be able to cope.

I originally booked for Sat 18th, and then emailed to cancel when I found out about the nutists (I wouldn't mind :rotfl: , but I don't fancy explaining too much to my 3 little girls.)

I re booked 2 rooms for the 24th, and got an email from lm.com saying they would not charge admin fee.

Yesterday I received 2 confirmations from Alton Towers, each with 2 rooms, so I now had 4 rooms on the 24th.
Alton Towers did not want to know - they said it was up to me to contact LM.com and sort it out, and if I didn't I would be charged twice - LIKE HELL I WILL.

I have spoken to LM.com (presumably in India judging by the accent) and they say I have just 1 reservation for 2 rooms (correct) and so they will not contact Alton Towers because there is nothing wrong with my booking!

Just come off the phone again to Alton Towers. I have booked the waterpark for us all, but they are still adamant that I have 2 bookings.

I am going to leave it now, and just keep a careful eye on my creditcard statement. If I get charged twice, I will let the credit card company sort it because I have got the proof I need that I have not double booked.

    Can't wait for check in!!

Just been naughty - and booked a second night to tag on. So will now be there the 30th and the 1st. Will ring up and book the water park for the Friday.

    Can't wait! :)
  • I stayed at the hotel on the 10th of November and went into the waterpark on the Saturday 11th November.

Had a great time, and all the waterpark outside was opened up!!

Better still, I haven't been charged for my stay!!! I have paid for all the extras such as waterpark and breakfasts, but the actual £10 for the room has not been charged.

  • hi guys have booked in, just wondered if any of you thought it would be worth us using the waterpark, was thinking of getting the £5 entry, for me and my daughter (age 2) and then either £5 entry for my hubby or paying £8 so we can take turns at going on the other things. Apparently if you are on a £5 ticket you are restricted to whay areas you can use, but it's not much fun going on the rides on your own. Is there enough there to keep a two year old (and a 23 year old) happy to make it worth the £5?
    It's definitely not definately!

You have to pay because it is a separate feature. This £10 offer is room only, no breakfast or extra features, whereas some packages do include extras.

If you prebook, either when you arrive at the Hotel or by phone it £8 per person for the waterpark. If you don't prebook, its £12.
