DH in his wisdom has come up with a possible answer to the breakfast dilemma. He's suggested that we go in our camper (pictured) and cook breakfast for everyone on our two ring burner for a small fee. Maybe we could stretch to cooking tea as well.

    Only joking of course.......:rotfl:

BTW anyone else going Wed and/or Thurs night this week?

My bf and I are there Weds and Thurs nights this week! Def up for your offer of breakfast!!! ;)

Yes, toast's no problem. It takes about 15 minutes per slice, so we're expecting quite a queue to form!!

It'd be nice to see other MSE'rs there. Don't forget to wear your badges!!
    HM of course.....

I've had several pm's asking how to avoid MommaCC or maybe the naturists next weekend!!!!

I booked before the OP kindly changed the first post to mention them (the naturists not MommaCC)

I rang and cancelled. This is something they don't like to do and as you'll find out, it's damn hard to find the number!

I found it by going onto say no to 0870, which listed 2 numbers that did not work so I had to use the expensive one

    0871 2223200

I got through to somewhere subcontinent but the lady was great, stick with it and explain about the pool being advertised but unavailable.

Ask for an email promising cancellation

    best wishes
    georgiac

    Cheers georgiac,
Just managed to cancel my booking for the 18th & got email confirming no charges.

Thought I'd let you know how we got on at Alton Towers this weekend.

We booked for Sunday night for £9.99.

You can book in from 3pm and check out is at 10am, although you can get there earlier and leave much later and leave your bags in the car or reception.

Breakfast is definitely not included, not a problem, we took a bag of danish pastries, bread, cheese, fruit and orange juice (not actually allowed!) to have in our room this morning, yum yum.

Evening meals are expensive, we went out to eat instead, plenty of pubs around but don't leave it too late in the evening, most stop serving around 8pm. We also took some chocs and brandy to keep us happy while watching a film on TV, there are also some easy games on the TV to get seriously addicted to.

We booked the water park as soon as we got there for £8 a day each, we opted to go in today as we didn't get there until 4pm yesterday and it closes at 6pm. We were in early at 10.30 today, really quiet and didn't have to queue for anything, lovely lying in the warm bubbles outside while the staff had their big coats on! We stayed in about four hours, took newspapers as well and really relaxed and had fun.

A great place for food is the Windy Ridge Cafe, open 7-7 every day (last orders at 6.30) on the Leek to Ashbourne road, approximately 3 miles away. They do fantastic full breakfasts from £3.95 which you will struggle to finish. Also specials and they're licensed to sell their own ale and wine. Used to be a Little Chef but now back to the original Windy Ridge Cafe, hooray!

All in all we had a smashing time, didn't spend much in the hotel at all. We even had a tour of the themed suites for when we win the lottery and brought home the complimentary (full size) toiletries - well you can't leave them behind can you?

Thanks for the original post...I've booked twice more for this year so far.

ps - we did ask about the naturist weekend, it finishes at 12 on Sunday when they have to put their kit back on, we also asked if they have to wear cossies on the rides but apparently they do not - after today's rides and my sore bottom the first aiders may have to put plasters on some very strange places next week!
you can't take it with you...

Can you take rucksacks etc in with you? Is everyone in there in swimming costumes or can you just be in casual clothing as well?
