  • nsd today!

Had my meditation class, was lovely :) although when in the meditative state i felt like i was going to nod off or fall over, and didn't really like the feeling much, afterwards i told my teacher and she said that was a good sign :rotfl:oops. And that i should embrace it :o but i really couldn't 'let go' .....oh dear. next time, perhaps. :A

Have a cake in the oven, our cupcakes exploded though :o think temperature of oven was too high!!!! So hoping the actuall cake comes out nice :rotfl: i really fancy a victoria sponge :p

Had to transfer £20 to dh account but not going to include that in budget as i took it out the f&f pot and he will be re-imbursed for it as it's for food so i will just pay it straight back in there when he gets it! :)

Going to have a nice lazy afternoon, i'm so tired, my kids are trying to kill me with this sleep deprivation i think :(!!! So dvd, tea, and if it cooks right, cake ;) and that is me set up for the day!

Oh and good news on de-cluttering. I put some bits up for sale and two are sold pending collection & payment (via FB) together the two items are £33 :T so hoping they don't let me down! Have some more bits up for sale too so hoping they go as 1) need room for xmas 2) need money :D

Hi bonnington :j we crossed posts!

I'm loving the meditation classes and fully recommend them to other stressed out people who can't get to sleep at night for worry about how they are going to pay the next bill :rotfl:if nothing else it sends me to sleep!

  • Sunday!

Have today emptied freezer no.2 out and put contents in the fridge/freezer. Have defrosted the freezer and left switched off until december to save on electric. Have a meal plan for the next 10 days (when payday hits) and i only need £15-20 of stuff at supermarket. Will try and get even lower though so we have a little extra money on the weekend when ds1 is home :T the kids want to go swimming and it will cost around £15 for everyone to go

Have spent the morning googling free view plus boxes for my mum! she wanted to join sky but after reading up on here i think it would work out just as cheap (cheaper actually) for her to just get a box. She only has a few channels at the mo because they have switched over in her area and i told her to get a recorder one so that whilst she is at work she can record her fav programmes :rotfl:

Next week's meals consist of chicken casserole, stew, spag bol, chips eggs & beans, shepherd's pie, chicken & rice with veg! I have all of the ingredients in apart from potatoes :T

Talking of potatoes, my mum used to bulk buy these in a huge brown sack and they would last ages and be cheap as chips (excuse pun) but hubby reckons they would go off? I think if we kept them in the front porch (COLD) they would be fine for ages??? what does everyone else think? Also if we were low on money/food with lots of potatoes in you can make tonnes of things?! i just don't want to waste the money and they go off though :undecided

had another huge headache all day, 4 paracetomol in and it's still here :( rubbish!

I've emptied out a cupboard (well one shelf at the mo) in kids room (with a lock on it) to put food for xmas. So when the monthly shop comes next week i can put it straight up there and hide it from all. If hubby & ds know where it is they will just eat it cos it is there! ds breaks up for xmas on the 8th dec :j can't wait!

i usually put tree up on the 12th but dh wants to do it early, and as he missed last xmas i might let them do it next weekend when ds1 is home :) so we can do it all together :T have sold one thing for definite on fb, have to drop off tomorrow, but that is £15 to go into savings :T hubby & I have decided to try and save as much as we can and in jan sales get some new pots and pans. ours are about 5 year old and were cheapy ones anyway. so have no non stick bit left, are all scratched up and burn all our dinners !

Going to wrap some pressies later so long as my head clears a little :)

  • I'm pleased to hear that you've made a sale on FB. :T

Sorry to hear you still have a headache, they can be terrible. I occasionally suffer from aural migraines (visual migraines). This is where you see a white blind spot and zig zagging lights. These are a couple of the symptoms.

We have an artificial tree, although we do have a proper one about 12 feet high in the garden. Our tree is about 145 years old. The children think we should buy another one, although they want us to buy a fresh one. On the subject of fresh Christmas trees, I heard on Radio 4, the other day, :o (embarrassed listening to Radio 4), that because there have not been enough frosts the pine needles may drop off trees before Christmas. :(

I think we will stick to our old tree this year and we usually put it up a couple of weeks before Christmas. Can't afford a new tree. After all, I am trying to reduce my debt and not buy something I already have.

I hope your head will be clear when you read this and that you have a great week and some decent sleep! :D

    Hi DFW

The potatoes should be fine so long as you don't let them freeze like we did last year, they go mushy when they've been frozen. We kept ours in the garage and the freezing temperatures last year ruined them. If yours are in the porch they should be fine, just throw a cover over them or under them when the temperatures plunge and they should be fine. They will start to sprout (seed) in the spring but you should have eaten them by then xxx
