Perhaps your OH should be in charge for 1 week to start with - split budget into fair weeks - obviously more for xmas week. If he makes a pigs ear about it you can pick up pieces by xmas - also only give him the cash for one week at a time so you know you have money for the rest of the monthMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

ok shopping is ordered
and he did it from mysupermarket -which i have been adding to all month anyway!
SO dh literally added a few of what he fancied and that was it! I sent the basket to asda & tesco to split it between the cheapest deals. Saved myself another £15.79 :T doing that and i also had free delivery from asda already in my basket so only had to pay one delivery charge anyway(chose a £3 cheap one) stress free shopping is worth £3
Tesco comes next tues
asda next weds
I just need to remember this now!
Have sent lots of invites to people to join topcashback as if you introduce a friend at the mo and they make £10 back you also get £10 :T:j no harm in sending a few emailsMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Morning all :j
A nsd here8/15 so far
I *think* that DH is finally having his  Lightbulb Moment :T:dance::exclamati (at last)
Firstly the shopping, the mood swings and then he comes out with the fact he is fed up of being on a budget and being poor :T:j hello and welcome to dfw world  SO his plan to get debt free (never mind the dmp, he's not interested in that) is to do another tour next year:(:(:(:(!!!!
HUH
That wasn't what i was planning! 6 months of worry, sleepless nights that dh is / could be in danger, 6 months of single parenthood (again) with 3 kids
dunno what to say to him now! he seems set on the idea ....
So anyway in the short term, he is *supposed* to do his course this weekend (he was supposed to pick up ds1 from school also, guess that's my job now) that will lead to a payrise and back pay. But I won't hold my breath. This particular course has been cancelled around 500 times already in the last 4 years :wall::wall: so that will be a last minute thing for fri/sat to see if he can do it!
Tomorrow am dropping off the facebook salewill pay the money straight into bank on way home (have to drive past it anyway and they have free parking :T)
Today i've just defrosted some chicken, we have cabbage in the fridge which I need to use so cabbage, chicken, mash for dinner, tres excitant eh!
Going to friends after picking dd up for free tea:rotfl: my life is just soooooooooooo exciting i am fit to burst at the seams i think
off to catch up on diaryland :wave:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I do sometime think that OH's think we are spending as much as we like and having loads of fun and then not letting them have anything they want (normally the more expensive items). "Its just so unfair huf huf" - like having a teenage in the house
Hope his course finally goes ahead, and the back pay arrives quickly. What happened to moving to germany? Sorry cant remember if that was off the cards or not.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I'm still feeling rough. Achy & tired. I won't get flu because i had the jab so no cold sweats or temperature but i get all the other symptoms usually of feeling ill, tiredness, headaches etc. Kids have not been 100% last few days so think they have passed it on (cheers for that!)
I've been onto bank and not looking too healthy had to do a fair bit of juggling and things are still short. I'm due child benefit on monday which i had included in november's budget but i'm going to have to try and not spend until 1st when dd's are due out so i know what is what. This is all down to panto tickets, my silly little spends last week, and a few other things i must not have budgeted for .......!!
I think we will be ok, but i will have to not bother with emergency funds this month nor the f&f pot (which i may have to empty boooooo) i'm desperate not to dip into what we already have but the bills need to be paid first!
DH has text me, still all set for tomorrow, but obviously we won't know until the day whether he can complete! Hoping he can it will mean a nice pay pack Jan/Feb which we could use as a f&f on one of our bigger creditors that refuse to stop interest!
I called out gas & elec supplier to question the dd we pay and apparantly it is right  we use £70 a month on elec, and £38 on gas according to the meter reading s:eek::eek: I'm £60 in credit on gas, but think will leave that cos it will even out over xmas period. In elec account we are £20 owing to them but we currently pay £77 so over paying there so that should be ok soon. Thinking of changing supplier (again) but not sure if i would get anywhere cheaper if that's what my meter readings were (i'm not up on all this tech stuff though so dunno how they work it out)
I'm on here so i can keep myself awake (mind & body!) another early night for me i think, thankfully dh is on that course so i won't feel bad going to bed at 7pm with the kids and leaving him sat alone :rotfl:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
