  • slm, when I set it up I stopped sending my regular payments and iinstead sent 'token' payments along with a letter saying I was in the process of setting up a dmp with the cccs and gave them my client ref no. in case they wanted to call them. You will get tonnes of default letters in the first instance and phone calls. I sent letters telling them I only wanted to talk to them via post and the phone calls soon stopped though. Once it is set up you make a payment via direct debit each month to the cccs and they divvy it up according to how much you owe.

I know it's not for everyone this route, but I honestly have found it to be a life saver. We can afford to live again and are not constantly worried by bills landing on the doormat! It will trash your credit rating but I took this route knowing that and it was kind of why I chose it. If I can't get credit again, I can't end up in this mess again~?! If you see what I mean!

Good luck with your decision slm x

  • and as for wages going to you...i do this now. I set up all the direct debits that i could to go out on the 1st (we get paid last working day of month) and i set up a standing order to a brand new account dh had set up for pocket money, mobile expenses (payg), and anything else he might need that month. He doesn't touch the main account usually as he has enough in his....they do get used to it. As will you, it's tough the first month or so cos everything is falling into place but it gets easier I promise you! Check out the dmp thread on here If i have a question they're my first port of call they seem to know everything between them :)

  • Have transferred the child benefit into the f&f savings so have £52.10 in there now :)

Not really sure how I go about settling accounts with f&f offers when I'm on a dmp with CCCS will have to have a look on some of the other boards on here see what they have done....but hopefully by new year I may have enough to offer a few of the smaller ones :T
