Hi DFW
Good to hear that you had a lovely time in London with DH.
Oh dear to clearing the savings accounts but at least you have a plan to save it up again. It always amazes me how money just disappears - the odd £20 here and £10 there soon adds up. At least you've got Christmas covered out of it.
Hope the new cars ok xx0 -
Thursday
Well back on the money saving wagon today so missed breakfast with the girls, not so much fun now the men are all off on leave anyway we can't talk about anything without being ridiculed or it turning to men's talk lol. So saved a tenner there. Went to Matalan and took back some trousers that didn't look very nice! Got £8 back on card but spent £6 again on an umbrella for dd as hers broke (was 2 years old so i'll forgive her lol)
DH wanted to go to the zoo but i couldn't face walking around all afternoon in the rain and all the animals hide anyway except the penguins lol. So got out the free odeon tickets i had, had 2 kids and one adult left so sent dh to watch cars 2 with dd and ds1,...ds2 at home with me and he is non to pleased! But he's only just turned 2 and the only thing to keep his attention for longer than 2 seconds is peppa pig! So have saved 2 quid today in real terms back on my card
Last night i spotted a good deal on my usual moisturiser & make up remover, both of which i was planning a trip next week to go and replenish and got them on line 50% offand 25.5% cashback too so got both & a tinted moisturiser for £13.50 delivered!!! the moisturiser & make up remover are usually around £18 just for those two (body shop) so was well chuffed with that!
I have also spent £35 in tesco vouchers, for money to go to a safari park an hour or so away and also pizza express vouchersso got around £80 worth of vouchers headed my way hopefully by next week so we can take the pizza ones on hol with us lol
Have de-cluttered kitchen sides and dh has started to download music c.ds on to hard drive i'm going to get him to show me how to do it as i think i will be quicker he forgets then moans at me when i remind him and then huffs so much he eventually only gets a handful done before we start all over again the next day *sigh*
I'm also starting to worry that he may have slight PTSD as he is so moody, grumpy, snappy and whenever we cross a person from a certain country (i don't really want to specify for fear of being racist or anything...) but he literally goes pale and gets this angry look on him and tells me how much he f-ing hates them........all i can say is that it was somewhere that he eventually wanted to emigrate to and now he literally goes mental if i say (or anyone says) ANYTHING about the country or it's people *sigh sigh* i can't approach him as he snaps and tbh i have had enough. He's nasty without even realising it to everyone!!! Not just family but i mean EVERYONE and he used to be so thoughtful and considerate i just don't know what to do....any suggestions anyone?? I'M actually dreading our holiday away nowjust the thought of him being moody and rude to everyone is making me feel sick!
Anyway, back on money situation. I was finally -two weeks late grrr- paid tenancy money £460 so i have immediately transferred £160 or so to savings for hols so we again have £1000 or so for the 2 and half weeks away (suspecting alot of this will go on petrol!) and i transferred £250 back to school fund savings and left the rest in the current account as i am expecting a few more bills to go out yet and nothing in there to pay it all!
MIL is coming to stay tomorrow hoping she can cheer up/talk sense into dh. We haven't got any money to go out so hoping it will cheer up a bit weather wise!
Also my dad rang me said he wanted to give me some money to take kids out and would also put same amount in for my sister and her kids (both to my account) sooooooo i double, triple checked account and no money. Finally we both realised he has sent it to the barclays account that has defaulted (bu**er) so good news is i made (in a roundabout way) £100 over payment this month. Bad news is i now haven't 2 pennies to rub together lol. oh well! will update sig to reflect this though

I think you should bite the bullet and get him to get counselling if he doesn't listen you'll need to get his work involved as they need all there guys to be in tip top shape both mentally and physically, he'll thank you in the long run, what about phoning saffa and get some advice xxxx
my marriage failed because he refused to get counselling and when he eventually did it was far to late the damage was done i'm afraid xxxx

thanks abba i think i'm gonna have to wait until he is in a better mood and then i am going to speak to him. he refuses to think that he could possibly have anything like depression and is always making comments about how weak people are that go on anti d's (yeah thanks hubby that includes me) but if he doesn't deal with it i am one who certainly won't hang around to be shouted and screamed at forever more and deep down i think he knows this. we had a blazing row last night, upset ds1 who was asking us to stop. And i basically told him i would rather him move out then carry on as we are! This morning he got up with the kids so i couldd have a lie in, had (semi) tidied up, is off out to fix a broken brake light on the car, offered to go to the shops for butter that i needed....hmmm he confuses me. Tomorrow (if he lasts that long) he'll be back to a moody b**&^%d again no doubt!
Anyway MIL is over today so i best get up, I need to make dough for pizza bases for hm pizzaand choc fudge cake for pudding! and tidy up again!
I'm waiting on next payday really now (already lol) so i can replenish savings to hopefully near where they were! And also start another savings account for car insurance next year so i can again pay off in one go!

Monday
Well didn't spend too much at the weekend, went to tesco and topped up a little as MIL was here, so spent £12 there. Went to the boot fair yesterday, got DD a dora laptop nearly new for £4.50 have put away for her xmas pressie, got 2 dora back packs one for each ds2 and dd! £1.60, a fold up picnic table £7, 50p entry, scooter for dd £1, pair of clarks shoes for ds2 £1, so not too much of a spendy day there either.
Today i'm off to buy a pair of cheapish trainers so that i can start running (left the other pair at mums house! and they were too tight anyway)
Have sorted out holiday plans so we are going straight to dad after lake district now and he has booked us a lodge on his fishery. So we don't have to pay for lodging just petrol & food. Trying to get my sisters & mum up to stay with us but no joy yet!
Need to start packing on tues/wed so i have enough time to wash anything that needs it! Also have builders in tomorrow and wed as they are re-doing stuff that has cracks from the re-furb! all i need before my holiday is dust everywhere!
Anyway busy day today so best get off, MIL still here so DH is actually on best behaviour too so may as well make the most of it! Food is lasting well from the £55 spend! only had to top up milk, cheese & ham really (had to make extra sandwiches/pizza for mil) so i may stick to the shopping 2 x a month when hols are over as ds1 won't be here either and dh back at work so it should last even longer!

Tuesday
Well I'm in a state of utter shock at the recent events going on in London. I don't live there anymore but i'm from London and still see myself as a 'Londoner' and I feel so dis-heartened at the riots, looting and general destruction of the local communitiesI spent most of yesterday & this morning watching the news and it's events, and my sister is in one of those places today (had to go out and pick up food for kids...thinking 12pm would be safe) apparently the looting had already started and she was urged to go straight home after getting her shopping :(WHAT are these hooligans thinking???!!! My other sister & mum were in an area of London yesterday and were also told to go home as the managers were shutting shop at 2pm (they had seen kids congegrating around street corners, all hooded up and waiting for it to start i assume) I just can't believe it (sorry to go on) am feeling very depressed about it all today and can't help but keep snapping at everyone. Am very worried about my family right now. My DH had to just drive his mother home as she was due to go today (already had train ticket) and the area of london where she had to change trains had been looted already with reports of it happening again so we thought it best to drive her home. I just hope they make it back there and here ok (and quick!)
It makes me wonder what sort of morals these people have. Why don't they have a conscience? Why do they enjoy destructing what some people have spent years of heard earned money and sweat building!!:mad:
Anyway it makes me glad i moved away from London before ds1 was due to go to secondary school (who knows what sort of groups he could have become immersed in esp around the area we did live) -lucky escape!
We are still on news watch (well I am) as if it gets worse I reckon they may call the army in even though the police do not want to admit defeat! And that means DH will be called in from Summer leave to go deal with it if it ends up being the paras that go in. Even though i think they should go in, i am also selfishly thinking I want my holiday that we spent our hard earned money on
So anyway enough of that. Today WAS a nsd. Till i decided i NEEDED chocolate lol so had to send dh to get that. BUT was kinda money neutral cos i sold a pram on fb page today making £15 and then only spent £4 on chocso am £11 up....my dad also kindly put in another £50 for me into the right bank this time so i bought trainers to start running again (£25), and also used that money at the boot fair, and to buy a new top for running (£3). 3 days till hols now..............so near............!
Have a lovely day all, and stay safe!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Its awful isnt it. i dont watch too much as so very depressing. If it were me i would be so very scared to go home to my mum - she would have punished me far worse than most of them will get. I am glad i was brought up with some morals and hope i can do a good job of passing them on to my own little ones.
I hope your family stay safe and are as unaffected as they can be living so close.

Hey slmmy father i think would have killed us lot if we had gotten into half the trouble these kids do  he refused to send us to the local school if i remember rightly because they weren't strict enough!!
I think all schools should be teaching kids morals, to RESPECT their elders, environment and to learn to be a good 'neighbour'
...my mum, 2 sisters & cousin were attacked about 15 years ago in Crystal Palace for 'being white' now if we were to attack any other race because they are X, Y or Z coloured we would be locked up and the key thrown away! People coming into this country should learb to live amongst us and integrate with US.
Some of these gangs that are around in London are because they hate US (us being the British). When most of them have lived here since they were born, their parents have passed on their views of the world and in turn the kids have no respect for anyone or anything. One of the reasons i moved away! I really don't understand the anger inside some of these kids. They have no real aims in life and that is just plain sad. I feel sorry for them, well i would if they weren't destroying our capital right now....
Anyway i'll just get off my soap box now i could go on and on i am so angry at what has happened!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
