hi dfw321 interview went well .. I have a good feeling but will know next week now. oh may have a temp job if he doesnt stop fussing about not being able to do it .. he wont know unless he has a go! thank you for asking though. Im so glad he doesnt have to go on any more tours although i may have to pack him off to his mothers at regular intervals loL!! hes got a fair way to go til his LBM .. hes having his payout in august 10k and wants to spend 5k on a road bike !!!!!! but dont worry its a good deal as its on sale with a grand off!!! sometimes i really wonder what goes on inside his head! still he cooked tea last night .. but left the kitchen in a mess for me to clear up !!!! and I have heard really bad stories about wife cliques along the way on camps .. im glad I never had to go through that!
hope you get the letter and the parcels all sorted. Its a day of housework and gardening today as it'll never get done otherwise lol. speak soon xx#8 £2 Savers Club 2020: £90/£250

Friday
NSD here for me
Have sent ds1 out this morning to post box to post off our sun hol form. Have put down 4 parks that aren't too far away from here, just be nice to have a break, and not 10 hours driving involvedso going to the next county up lol (hopefully)!
I have received 2 parcels today DS1 phone (he's already taken it) and some books for all the kids for xmas. Just waiting on the duvet i ordered for ds for school, got a great deal on an all season one, am thinking of getting myself one actually as i only have a 10tog on my bed and it's freezing in the winter!!!
need to:
re-clean living room(please tell me why i bothered spending ALL day doing it the other day)
Finish doing all the washing
pack ds1 clothes for his rugby camp (mon & tues) and my clothes also.
Check online bank
Check surveys (slm i replied to your pm)
find something for dinner ( i hate cooking)
Put clothes away
Call landlord to come out and fix a light! (keep forgetting!)
Think that is about it.............OOOOOH and again this morning have been on the phone to NPower actually got an apology from the woman on the end of phone today (usually they don't bother and just upset me even more) they are looking into my case now to see whether i am liable to pay or not) I have gone through my paperwork this mornign and found energy bills for MY house over the dates they are charging me, so unless i have had two accounts on the go i don't see how i am liable. ANyway nasty letters are stopping whilst it is being looked at and should have stopped 2 months ago when i first called ;(
So anyway..........off to sort out the house! Have a great day allMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Hey DFW
Busy day for you, I know what you mean about cleaning, its a thankless task and one that gets taken for granted.
Hope you manage to get a Sun holiday xx0 -
Saturday
Morning all, well yesterday was a bit of a carp day~! My stooooooopid car broke down a record 5 times in one day  the MOT is due next week (all booked in) and tax also end of month & insurance renewal!
So yesterday we popped to scrap yard to see if they had spare parts for the car, and whilst we were there the windows (all electric) stopped working - fan already broke, back windows were broken 3 months after buying it, we ended up baking in there!!!!!!
We said we would go back for the parts today, but on the way home we saw a nice volvo s40 for only 1350, so DH is out right now with a friend to give it a test drive.
We have that much in the emergency savings so we may have a new car today that actually works :T i'm so excited. And even more excited to pay out of savings than on a card or overdraft! However i have sent him with a tonne of q's and if it doesn't answer right to them all i don't want it. the last thing we need is our savings gone and 2 broken cars
We go on holiday in august so would be nice to have a car that we aren't worried about the whole way up there and back!
Anyway when i find out i will update! Then the plan is to replenish savings and enjoy hols and then start back on saving for a new car (cos obviously one that has done 100, 000 miles which this one has isn't going to last forever) BUT we only want a nice clean cheap run around so if it fits the bill then the car is ours till we have saved for a new one so wish me luck
Other than that it will be a NSD :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. well I am the proud owner of a working car! Ohhh how excited am I
!!
However i filled old car up with petrol the other day so have a full tank, so instead of driving new one to london tomorrow i have to take old one to use the petrol up (boooooooo) the tax runs out on 31st and mot aug 3rd so will use old car till then so get most of the petrol out and then start to use new car which i have insured todayInsurance is more on the new one as it has a bigger engine (which we wanted anyway, better fuel consumption on it apparently?) but i shopped around and got a quote for £430 fully comp with DH as named driver
so i paid in full from the last of our holiday money :eek: I am praying we can get dh 4 yr bonus in and paid to us before our hols!!! Otherwise we will have to raid something else (like school fees fund )
I'm sure it will all come together......but for now, i have £0.03p in the emergency fund  and £150 in the holiday fund  BUT i have to look on bright side we have a car that works and should be reliable to take us on hols, take ds to school & even to tesco lol, (broke down 2 x at tesco in last month)
I've changed the breakdown cover from old car to new one...and went through quidco so only paid £6 for the year for that. So all in all very spendy day, but was needed and we managed to get is quite cheapoh and DH got the car for 1250......so saved a hundred quid there BUT the wind screen has 2 pretty big chips so we have auto glass coming out to see if they can fix (for free) otherwise we have to replace it (£100 from my excess) so the money we saved we may be spending back out again next week!
I do have until September to save up for the tax thoughand until next year to save up for service & MOT now!
Hope everyone is having a great saturday!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. congratulations on the new car - very envious. Our mot is in Oct and there is a lot to do before it will pass - not sure if its even worth it. Boot now wont open to get buggy out, very annoying.
I hope you manage to sort pennies out before your holiday and get that fund back upMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
