After my finances going ok for the last few months (meaning I have stayed in the black by the end of the month) I checked my online bank this morning and nearly cried  I have £127 left in there and only £58 available balance....DH wanted £80 to take with him back to work.

His pocket money he spent on food (£40 over 2 weeks) at the garrison he is at because they were on pay as you eat or something ??? so i felt bad and said he could have the money back again (as he can claim back the food expenses) and also £20 for petrol going back and forth and also £20 for next weekend. I felt awful but I nearly told him to just stay there, after all we've done 7 months apart what's a few weeks :o i thought better of it though as I remembered it's father's day next week!

So i've given him the bank card, he's taking out the £50 he can get out, and out of that is now taking kids swimming & then he will keep whatever is left. So i will still need to give him money next weekend to pay for the journey back and forth :wall::wall:i'm feeling a little like that this month lol...

We've spent about £400 on petrol this month :( it makes me so angry thinking about it  but it's done now...just means we have no money for entertainment, petrol, clothes etc etc lol all of the little luxuries we were just getting used to on the budget! Oh well I suppose I should look at the bright side, we're not getting into more debt on CC or OD which is what we would have done before now!

And I am (at the moment...we will see how bad the month gets...) refusing to transfer money from our contingency fund. I don't see it as an emergency -yet- I have £150 due every week from tax credits & child benefit until the end of the month....so it will all be ok! I do still have around £150 worth of DD due out over the month so it will be tight and I have to go to DS school on the 1st july so it will be very close but I guess it's just another test....I can do it!!!

Enough ranting for one day lol, DH is out with kids, I'm catching up on some Jamie Oliver programme about fat kids in america (i think) and just gonna stay in all next week to claw some money back....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Ok back with a plan for the week so I won't be tempted to stray :rotfl:

Monday- Park with kids (near by park so no need to go near town or shops!)

Tuesday- Free surestart play group drop in. 10-12. Then home kids can play in garden if nice! Oh and I may be starting my power plate sessions that day too!

Wednesday- Food shop is coming so will wait for that in morning and in afternoon maybe take kids to zoo if I have enough petrol left if not then park!

Thursday- Power plate? Avoid breakfast with the girls as can't really afford it! Make up some batch foods with shopping from wed...

Friday- Perhaps a trip to the toy library for the kids to get some new toys ...DH will be home in evening

Saturday- Do Something with DH & kids....wonder if kids will be sick of the park by then....:rotfl:

Sunday- Errr....breakfast in bed for DH and .....park??? :rotfl::rotfl:

    I HATE being broke! :D

You're right they don't do they lol! And we are lucky we have one 2 mins away which is new and all kitted out with new toys...it's just a shame I get bored after half hour :p I wish my kids were old enough sometimes so they could go play for a while and I can just be sitting in the corner with a flask of tea and a good book :rotfl:

Just popped in to say i think you sound positive considering you have had a rough time lately and the fact you have spent that much on petrol and are still surviving is great. Also well done for not dipping into emergency funds (yet anyway!).Keep going and i am sure you will get there
