i recommend just weighing yourself once a week no matter how tempted you are as you'll get peed off if you've gained and start comfort eatting then it becomes a vicious cycle x

'Rise n' Shine! It's a new day! Take the time to appreciate & be thankful for what you have today; guaranteed, you will have a good day! '

That's my status on facebook today :) and i've decided to take my own advice on it too :) be thankful for all i have, and stop focusing on what i don't have.... I have 3 beautiful healthy children, one very patient & loving husband & a roof over my head - i'm going to leave out the negatives as they just focus me more on feeling crappy!

Today I am off to my first vibro plate session, then to ald* to stock up on veg & fruit for snacks (plus i refused to pay ocado's prices lol) & then to play group with the kids. Hoping to keep spends under a tenner so i can class today as a LSD :)

Busy morning for me & the sun is out at last yey!

    have a great day MSE'ers! x

  • Ok well diet wise I have been very good :) had toast & tea for brekkie & juice. Then had more tea when I went with friend to s'bury (i didn't spend any money on food or clothes yey) so spent 95p there. We went along to the vibro plate place and was rather peed off actually as the lady had said, come along anytime, just wait as each session is only 12 mins or something....so we did. She looked like she was having a coronary when we stepped in with 3 kids in tow and muttered something about getting them out because of health & safety laws so we said well they weren't going to use them anyway *doh* and we were going to take turns and one of us stand out side with the kids.....nope she was fully booked till 12pm (9.30 when we went in) .....so we asked her why she had said we couldn't book before and she said, yes of course you can, who told you that? !!!!!!...you did, silly old mare.

Grrrrr so that's the second time we haven't been able to get on. We were both so angry tbh we nearly asked for the money back. BUT i think she had kinda hoped we would ask for that option anyway. So i decided against that and we are going to book for saturday (hopefully) getting really peed off with it now though just want to get them started as voucher runs out in july (grrrrrr)

Also popped into ald* next door to salon, and got veg and fruit & herbal tea. Spent around £9...can't find receipt so don't know exact amount but will add £10 now to round it up!

Have got home after playgroup and been good, cut up lots of peppers, cucumbers, carrots & put them in containers in fridge for quick snacks when i'm starving! Had a sandwich for lunch with one slice of ham & lots of salad. Wate with Lemon in & going to try my new peppermint tea in a mo....Also found out about another free playgroup on a monday afternoon so may pop into that one next week and see how it is! :)

Am waiting for my shop to turn up! I'm so impatient have been sat here tapping my feet for 40 mins lol. So thought I would come on here and distract myself!

Am doing well on diet :) didn't give into my cravings last night of chocolate! :)

Scrambled egg on plain brown toast this morning for breakfast and an apple for snack. Also had some herbal tea & am trying to keep up with my water intake to flush myself through lol....only thing is i found myself up at all hours last night going to the loo :rotfl:it was like i was pregnant again (i'm def not!)

Will check on line bank in a bit. I received an email from DS1 school yesterday. Need something smart for me to wear to his final day. He also needs a tie....i bought one for the funeral (obviously black) but the shirt it came with is black & white, do you think that would be ok? I wonder if he would feel funny about wearing it again after the funeral too ...Hmm..don't really have ANY extra money to allocate to clothes for either of us this month so think i will have to raid wardrobe to find something 'smart' for me -that actually fits :rotfl:

I've been taking my iron supplements for a couple of weeks now with extra vits (i slacked off them last time i started) and i'm already feeling like i have extra energy so i reckon i def was anaemic (no surprise there though always am!)

SO hopefully the more my energy returns the more I can get done in the evenings towards ebay, making sock monkeys for extra cash etc...

Have decided to start using positive visualisation again. I used to use it al the time, then just stopped (once i had everything i set out to get..hmm perhaps that is where i went wrong :rotfl:)

Ooooh shopping is here....be back later to tell you if ocado is better than asda or tesco!

  • Ocado Vs the other 'cheaper' online grocery shops

well shopping is here, and the driver was very nice. Actually carried into my kitchen and asked where i wanted it (side or floor or table) was so shocked at this i just told him to put it anywhere! :rotfl:

Asda have always brought it on crates and stood there tapping feet until i've emptied it and thrown it all over my kitchen quickly! AND if you don't do it quick enough some of them have helped me get it out and thrown it into my kitchen too! Tesco is the same!

So one point up for Ocado on that :D

The bags i have to say were far better quality so they will be going into my reusable bag stash ;) I usually have to chuck asda & tesco ones straight in recycling or use in bins in house sometimes..

So they win the point for bags too! :D

Have to say though things were VERY randomly packed. the only thing that made sense was the one bag of fully frozen stuff. everything else was i assume just thrown in! Strawberries with cooking oil and a toothbrush :rotfl:oh a few yoghurts (i found yoghurts in EVERY bag barr the frozen one!)

So have to say Asda actually get the point for packing ...and give me the option of no bags too which i prefer!:D

For quality of food (for price), I had ordered a lemon meringue pie for the weekend as hubby is home...twas a quid and in iceland a quid will get a full size one....in ocado it will get you a barbie doll size one. Seriously?! the meat all looked yummy and not too different a price to asda or tesco (unless they have good promotions) and tbh i got everything on offer from them so perhaps that's why the prices weren't too shocking :rotfl:Their pizzas were bog standard tesco 99p value type jobbys, and were £2.14  not too impressed with that one! In asda they were doing those yummy pizza express ones for less - these def don't look as good. STuff like cous cous, veg etc all looked good quality although slightly more expensive...and the stuff that was too expensive I didn't get in the end i cancelled and went to Aldi!

SO i reckon the point has to go again to asda & tesco for quality for the price (quality same...price cheaper in these places imo!):D:D

Fo damaged stuff it was pretty easy to put in a claim though you just go online and click on the link. I had to do this for the strawberries that had randomly been thrown in with heavy stuff and burst everywhere!!! It's just as easy really to call up the other places so all good there with all of them

So they can have a joint victory for claiming for damaged/missing stuff :D

Substitutions- They didn't have any cornettos which i had decided to treat the kids with (were on offer £3 for 8 of them- ordered £6 worth haha) so they substituted for 5 boxes of 99's (they put an extra on in by accident lol) and i hadn't realised they will also reduce the price of the substitution to match the one that they didn't have. This wasn't explained so i gave 2 boxes back to driver for refund as thought i was paying £6 for the two boxes..but I ended up with 12 icecreams for £3 anyway :rotfl:so all good! -this is much better than asda & tesco when ever i have had a substitution they've had no trouble with substituting say a value size jar of pasta sauce (29p or whatever) for a top brand for £1.29  so that was good!

So Ocado get the point for substitutions too:T

But have to say overall i'm a quantity over quality kinda girl at the mo :rotfl:so think i will stick with asda & tesco for the foreseeable future. You get way more for your money and when your broke it's gotta be the cheaper route me thinks!

Was quite impressed though, and they have won overall on my scoring system anyway ;) so if they have any other vouchers going about i may swap to them for a week (supermarket tart me :rotfl::rotfl:)

So weekly shop with them, came to £66 including delivery- that was with a twenty quid voucher, 23.18 worth of savings (bogof etc) and I did get a lot so cant complain too much (at all really!)! I still have £7.50 cashback due from it too (which has been tracked not paid yet) but will reduce this from total to add to grocery total- £58.82 for the week :D super impressed with my amount of shopping for that!

Anyhow hope you all enjoyed my little review haha and if you need a shop this week i urge you to make the most of the deal! I got tonnes for my money

    Hi DFW

Thanks for your endorsement of Ocado and the quidco, discount hint - I will definitely be giving them a try in the next few weeks.

    Hope you're ok xx
  • Thursday

Well i've spent the morning at breakfast with the girls. I decided I needed a morning out the house, so i raided all the bottom of my handbags, jean pockets & sides and found plenty of money for it haha (well over a fiver :rotfl:), amazing what you can find in this house! So today's spends were £4.75, for brekkie, tea, & a diet cola! So will count this as a LSD :D

Think DH may be home later rather than tomorrow night which is good he will get to spend fri & sat with us before going back sunday afternoon so won't seem like such a waste of money him coming back and forth for 2 nights!

This afternoon I emptied out the toy chest, cupboard & boxes of toys in the front room out and tidied them all away properly into their proper boxes, i.e all the lego with the lego, all the dolls in one place....wonder how long that will last, last time it was about 2 weeks of me keeping on top of it. Then they had a friend round one day and between the 3 of them they trashed all my hard work lol

Checked my quidco and since joining in feb I've had £30 of cashback paid to me into the bank and am waiting on around £40 more that needs to be tracked & paid :j:j i'm very happy with that lol and have had it paid into my co-op account which i dont really use anymore so will use that to buy DH xmas pressies with! At least I can say I earned it and so he's not paying for his own present if you see what i mean :rotfl:

I've been invited to my nephews b-day party in July. I have already bought him a pressie so that's sorted. and always have a stash of birthday cards which i have always picked up when on special offer :) I have DS birthday all wrapped up (well ok not wrapped up but all bought and ready to go lol) same with DD's both are in July so no expense there. Just want to get them a nice card each.

I am due to renew my car insurance end july so I may start looking around for good deals, and cash back in a week or so. Can you believe i shopped around last year (always have) and got a great deal, £50 cashback. And stupidly i never claimed the cashback :o:mad:- fool! I also have car tax due and the M.O.T........so we are going to put it in early for the MOT which isn't due until august 3rd (or thereabout) and if it passes we will buy a years tax for it. If it fails we are going to wait for DH 4 year Army bonus and buy a new car. I'm not throwing my money away on this one if it's going to fail the mot anyway! If it does fail we will use the bonus, and if it passes we are going to put the bonus into a savings account for a year and try and add to it so we may have a decent-ish amount to get one next yr (bonus is only a few grand at the most after tax)

Bank account is looking healthier after tax credits went in. One DD came out today which was due for £20 and another is due out on the 20th and then the 25th if i remember rightly! So need to make sure i keep around £60 in there to cover those!

Right off to finish the kitchen and putting clothes away (the worst job ever in this house because we have hardly any storage - i hate it worse than ironing!!!) :D
