Today is a p.j day :D (always good lol as NSD day!) DH is home too so I don't have to run around after monkeys all day by myself! We're watching Tangled atm, it's quite good actually and i'd bet that i am enjoying it more than the kids haha :p

Am also waiting on a delivery from a snack box place, I got an email offering me a freebie one so i took it up and will cancel as soon as it arrives later so I don't have to pay next week! I also entered some competitions yesterday (about 50 i think) over on the comping board, gave me something to do other than window shopping on the net ;)

Curry is in the slow cooker for dinner, and i've put enough in to hopefully get 4 portions from, have bulked out with red lentils, and potatoes ...can smell it already lol Mmmmmmmmm :)

have a great day at the zoo - which one if you dont mind me asking - we used to have season tickets for one but now cant afford petrol or season tickets as its aout 45 min away. We have our local museum instead which is much closer and cheaper and plan on walking there and having a lot of picnics there this year! Will look forward to your debt busting news. Awaiting on some myself but its becoming a long wait.

Anyway have fun and i hope it stays dry :)

hi slm :) it's colchester zoo we're about 10 min drive away :) and we never went...as soon as we went to leave it started chucking it down :rotfl:so we left it an hour and took them to the park when it stopped raining :p but another NSD here :j

We have some museum's in town and also colchester castle which we get discount at (and museums are free) but tbh we have done them so many times since moving here i'm pretty bored of them :o!

  • Sunday cont'd

right have 5 mins to myself (kind of...DS2 still awake and destroying my room..ah well!)

DH & I went out shopping yesterday :o 1st fail! then we went to Ikea ...2nd Fail!!!! and 3rd Fail was going to Primark :rotfl::rotfl:ended up getting my £25 refund for shoes, and then spending it all over again and up to £100 :o:o SOoooooo i now have NO money left for entertainment/cups of tea with friends/etc etc unless i come in under budget on food this week :rotfl:damned rain it set me up to fail!

Anyway DH has been throwing ideas around lately about getting out the army and retraining etc, but with no near tours pending and the security of the house, job & DS1 school i wasn't too keen....but saying that I would give anything to have a 'normal' life again :( seems like a catch 22 what ever we were thinking we had one pro and one con ....and NOW dh is suggesting that he move regiments to Germany  now when he first suggested it I replied with a flat out NO....but he has kind of worn me down a little (can feel defenses weakening daily lol) and so today I sent him in with a list of Q's to ask whoever he can.....re: nurseries/schooling (for little ones)/housing/moving/ how much extra he will get.......and so I wait with baited breath to see what they say and whether or not Dh will take the decision upon himself to actually go and do it!!!!!!

I'm still not sure what i think ...I took german for 3 years in prep school........certainly can't remember much more than numbers, and telling someone how old i am and that i have a headache haha :rotfl: so language would be a problem. Weather he has said is same as here :(booooooooooo if it was a hot climate i think i'd be straight there! Houses i've heard are flats with no gardens and i think i would go mad without a garden for the kids i've always had one and when i haven't it really stressed me (more than DS1 who i had at the time :o:rotfl:)

So does anyone here live in pads in germany or know anyone who does..........yay or nah!?!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway DS2 has escaped so have to run find him...... so will leave it there....and maybe my head may be clearer in the morning....i feel like i have given the DH the go ahead now with out actually meaning too (oops!)

Hi there i hope you get to discuss the move to germany a little more before OH yes or no. At least you would still have your friends here if thats any consilation although i think i may go mad if i couldnt talk to someone face to face at least once a day. Also the garden situation would be a problem for me and kids, but enough with negatives i am sure there are some positives (is food etc cheaper there?).

I live just down the road from you in sunny stowmarket. Our local museum doesnt have much but does have a play area and picnic benches which the kids love luckily plus occassionally they have special workshops that are mainly free to season holders. However no good if its raining!

Hope you have a great day :)

Oh wow, you do live close to me (just had to check on map haha- never heard of stowmarket :o)

There is lots to do here if it's not raining like the beaches etc, which are about 15 miles away, but tbh i never go :o the kids are too little to run around playing and they just sit there and cry that sand has gotten into their shoes, eyes & clothes :rotfl:so i gave up on that one long time ago!

I sent DH a load of messages so he could ask work, so far the answers are we will get around £250 extra a month, 3 flights a year will be paid for for DS1 to get to school & back. Not really sure i like the idea of being in a different country to DS though :( being in a different county is bad enough! So i reckon the extra money would be spent on getting back to england & calling people! Oh and apparantly food is MORE expensive there  I thought it was bad here?! Generally living costs are just slightly higher. I really don't think it's worth it, but I think Dh has his heart set on it because he can get promoted a lot quicker ..really not sure what to say to him. Will have to chat later on fb.......no credit to even call one another....bloody hate being broke!

Me too. Sounds like a chat is needed though to get your point of view accross. Not good about costs being slightly higher over there. Is there nowhere in UK that would progress him quicker?

Were off to beach on saturday so hope it doesnt rain. It my wedding anniversary and each year we go and build sandcastles with the kids and then treat ourselves to fish and chips on seafront. Cheaper but far less sophisticated than a meal for 2 by candlelight.

  • ok i weighed myself this morning and no change (well I had gone back to normal weight not +1lb extra lol so i guess i kinda lost 1lb?!) hmm anyway not going to let it deter me as last week I was pre-menstrual so hoping this week might be a bit better. I'm doing well, cutting out snacks, fizzy's (unless i go out) and have lots of fruit etc in :)

This morning i had to go to Asda and stock up on some bits, milk, juice & bread...came to £9 ALSO had to re-buy fruit/veg that i had bought last monday from aldi....it was absolutely awful most of it. The celery tasted like it had been soaked in chemicals (YUK), the nectarines went mouldy overnight (even in fridge?) the apples were ok as were the carrots & potatoes BUT honestly that was it!? That really has put me off going back in there again :( even if it was a one off!

So low spend day here for me and hopefully a NSD tomorrow, really needs to be as no money left really!

Phone bill this month was £41  i think talktalk have a lot to answer for there! I made around £10 worth of calls, the rest of it is in line rentals and packages that i don't even know what they are there for! Think will have to call them and cancel to cheapest package and get family to call me on their free tariffs (bit cheeky lol but could save me £360 a year!)

Anyway off to a friends in a bit for a catch up (and sound her out about the Germany thing- she knows more than me about things like this, as was brought up with army life!)

    Catch up later here :D
