  • ok so i made the call to barclays and they were great the two people i spoke to! interest has stopped and no charges for a year (and then review!) so happy! Finally I know all our money every month is going to debt rather than interest :) i feel so relieved you wouldn't believe it!

    Hi DFW

Thats fantastic news about Barclays, debt repayment only from now on and no interest.

We sound so alike, I like a good rant and rave at people and would probably have squashed my feet into trainers that were too small for me just to prove the point. Good for you though standing your ground.

I can't wait to start saving properly as well, it will far outweigh the thrill of purchasing when I can see the balance increasing.

Hope DS teeth aren't hurting him too much, I used to hate seeing my 2 in pain when they were teething :(
  • Am looking through my ebay lot, nothing is really worth anything here, all 99p jobbies i think (prob why i have been putting it off for so long lol) but i am going through it with a fine toothcomb, am going to be ruthless and get rid of stuff that isn't worth anything and chuck in the charity shop bag/ recycling bags..........so i will WILL be left with only a small amount to ebay after! I better anyways lol

Anyone know when the next free listing day is???

I know I am so shocked everytime i log onto my online bank that all the accounts are in the black and no - signs anywhere :rotfl: i used to seee having £1,000 left on my overdraft as 'my savings' :o HOW bad is that :o:o if i had 500 on the credit card, i would class it as 'my money' my god, when i think about it now i feel so embarrassed! And to think i was never in debt really until i hit late 20's you think i would have learnt my lesson by then :o

I've read a few diaries and forums though on here and elsewhere and i've heard you should have 3 months wages saved as a contingency hmmm damn i was only aiming for one month! Wonder if i should carry on after i reach this target........we were hoping to save towards a car as current one is literally falling apart all over :(...Dh should get another bonus next month/or month after for maybe 2,500 so i thought if we could add another few grand to that before next yr then it was a decent amount to get a decent 2nd hand car.......then maybe i can carry on with contingency. Hmmmm scuppered all my plans now reading those posts lol xx

I think 3 months is the ideal amount to have saved as a contingency fund but I personally would class having anything saved as a bonus. Its probably worth having a months worth saved up and then keep adding to it as and when you can but also save something towards the new car as well. The main thing is not to add to debt xx

    Spendy day today
£15 on petrol as was flashing red angrily at me lol so didn't want to risk running out!
£40 on food shop. Should have been £31 but I decided to buy myself some cheap flowers that were reduced as am feeling bit down in dumps so thought it might cheer me up (didnt so lesson learnt lol) and a DVD for kids to keep them quiet! So £9 for those two things, oops
    4.50 on breakfast and drink

  • So have had a bit of a melt down today concerning the fact that DH work told him he could have next friday off (DS1 last day of term, big day have to dress smartly, mingle with other parents etc etc) now he isn't allowed it off. So i have to go alone. Again :( am fed up of doing it all alone. ALl the time. FED UP :(:(

Kids have also been in hyper drive :( they are currently laid on my bed finally chilling out after trashing my room, the bathroom, ruined a rug with immac, and shower gel. DD has a bald patch from putting immac on her hair and so does DS2 :wall::doh::wall::doh:

DH got the brunt of it (kids got shouted at too, but as usual laughed in my face and walked off- anyone have super nanny's number??????)

And so i got a lovely text from him :lovethoug telling me to have saturday off with a friend and go to a spa or shopping or just anything without kids :) it's not very MSE or debt busting, but i feel i deserve it anyway! I can't remember the last time i enjoyed myself......i may well end up doing something alone even if friend can't make it......anyone know where i can go without any kids being around me!!!! :rotfl:

  • (TGI) Friday

Well i made it to the end of the week...just...am exhausted the youngest is teething so badly he is constantly filling nappies (sorry tmi) and a sore red bum, and his teeth are like little daggers and he likes to try them out on me and his sister when ever he gets the chance may have to do this to him... :silenced:....just until the teething stops of course :rotfl:

My spreadsheet is not up to date AGAIN!

I have real problems using it tbh, and it's only one i adapted from the web and i am sure there must be easier ones around...does anyone here use one that is free and EASY to use (for stupid people like me :rotfl:)i dread filling it out because none of the values seem to add up properly grr then i spend hours fiddling about with it trying to get it to work :o

Hopefully next month will be a cheaper month than this one. Ideally i would like to get my emergency fund topped up to my target. Then I would like to start saving some money for the MOT which is due. DH and I are going to try and get it to pass this one (miracles do happen right?) and then save as much as we can for a year so we can afford a new (to us) car :T this is the plan anyways lol, if however the car fails, i think we *may* get rid of asap and just use the money we will have from dh bonus to get a cheap car. be nice to save for a better one though. One that might last longer than the 3 month warranty before it starts falling apart

Dad has asked me to call him re the house in wales, not sure what is gonna happen there. Sometimes i feel like i should keep it because trying to get back on the property ladder would be nigh on impossible again i reckon, then the other part of me is saying get rid of, get money, pay off debt! Then start saving again!

What do you all think? I've always been so bad at making decisions, wish i were more decisive!

DH is home later, I am going to get some dinners out of the freezer so he isn't tempted to try and talk me around take outs again! After this weekend I might not see him next weekend so will be 2 weeks on my own with the kids again. I know it's nothing compared to the 7 months i just did. But am sooooooooooooooooo tired now, all the time, just need to relax minus kids!!!!!!!!

    SO jobs for today:
*search for a *useable* spreadsheet for dummies (me)
    *tidy up a bit
    *lunch
*check online bank see if last 2 dd's have come out yet!
    *get dinners out
    *make some dinner
*let kids run riot whilst i have 5 mins rest on sofa with eyes closed :rotfl:
    *tidy again :rotfl:

    Back later probably!

    Well i've been a bit naughty :o

I booked DS1 a 2 day training course (summer camp type thing) with the London Wasps so he can get some rugby training. Bless him he really wanted to make the team (and did) but he is not as advanced as some of the other lads in his year who came from prep schools and have played before so i thought it might help him get a better position next year and also off the bench slightly more as he was fed up of being the reserve! :o:o it cost £67.50 for 2 days

:rotfl:does it make it ok if i put it in smaller writing :p

I checked bank and we still have money for dd's so i thought i would treat him! Will have to stay with my mum for the two days though as it's in london near her so i will get a little rest too hopefully and see family :D
