  • well I was doing really well on my diet & had good intentions of doing zumba tonight...unfortunately family matters have got in the way :( and so i turned to the chocolate tonight & 2 bars of boosts & 2 ciders later I feel better but guilty! My god a huge war seems to be brewing between the family at the moment, because of a whole number of reasons, including the ones already mentioned in previous posts :( sigh, very very fed up with it all, and 2 weeks yet until the funeral :(:(

  • Ok, back on track with the diet so far, if you count chocolate spread on toast as a diet... :rotfl:

Am debating taking kids to play group, I know I should if only to get away from hotmail, facebook & my home phone for a while. I've never had so many people interested in talking to me all at once, if only it were for the right reasons rather than trying to get me on side against my own father at a funeral !!!!!! :rotfl:anyway, am trying to look at the brighter side of things (or else i think i may crack up) and i will only see them on that day and then can carry on with my boring life afterwards!

I've been asked to do a reading at the funeral as I am the eldest granchild, but i have major fears of talking in front of people...even people that i have known all my life :o i said yes though, as i thought they might think bad of me if i said no, but now this is stressing me out too. I get a really bad stutter (never ever stutter otherwise ???) and get all flustered when having to speak in front of people...this is also a reason why i was secretly glad i didn't have to go straight into a job from uni, my chosen career is teaching and even though it will be kids i stand up in front of it would petrify me -god i'm a wimp! :o:o!!!

    So plans for today:
    *get dressed
    *take kids to playgroup
    * avoid phone
    *avoid facebook inbox
    *avoid hotmail!!!

    :rotfl:easier said than done though!

I've ordered a dress (yes another one) for the funeral, from bravissimo in the sale, that was £32 (inc. p&p) so will have to send the other one back asap as money has come out of our holiday fund to pay for them :o! (and DH doesn't know this!)

The sun is finally shining here so i'm hoping the wind has died down so i can chuck kids in garden after playgroup to clean the house lol

  • Well I did well i managed to avoid the phone until lunch time, then i was caught unawares by a call to my mobile (didn't realise all the family had this number! seems they do...) I'm really quite upset by everything that is going on and could do with some support from hubby, and of course as usual when i need support the f*ing army have sent him on another course. My father is now not going to my grandma's funeral, my aunty is not going :( all because of some stirring cause by another aunt & uncle. truly makes me sad to think my family are this awful to each other :(

Sorry just needed a little rant and cry :'(

Oh DFW what a sorry state of affairs for you, theres nowt worse than family.

Have you got a really good, close friend that you can unburden onto?

I don't really know what to suggest apart from the obvious really which would be to avoid taking calls and keeping your distance from them.
Have you tried telling them that you don't want to be involved and unless they have something worthy of talking about then not to bother contacting you?
It sounds as though you're taking the moral high ground by not getting involved but are been dragged into it all by the rest of your family.

    Take care xx
  • Hi Choo, thanks for stopping by, nice to know i'm not alone on here sometimes ..although with my whinging it wouldn't surprise me if people did read and run :rotfl:

I am being dragged into it all because 1) my father & I have never seen eye to eye and spectacularly fell out only a couple of years ago, the other side of the family relished this chance to slag him off at every opportunity we met....2) the family that are causing this trouble are a bunch of greedy !!!!!!s, and they think for some reason that I am going to give them the 'yeah it is ok by me for you to take all of nan's money & possessions, because you looked after nan for the last year and you deserve it'

What really happened was she got very ill & depressed after grandad died and they took her in, when i spoke to my aunt (1) after this happened she told me that she hated having her there and she was nothing but a burden....although i kept this to myself as i do usually everything that is said to me as I don't like to stir and pass on gossip....perhaps i should have spoken up sooner, perhaps not? but now i'm just totally fed up of it all. My cousin called me last night telling me she had sent a message to the aunt (2) that has been un-invited from the funeral, and every other word was a threat ....what sort of people are they! I thought I knew them, clearly not?! (oh and i did tell her she was out of order doing this and to not get involved- it's not her argument, but she didn't listen....she has since deleted her fb account and started up a new one for 'real friends' so she says lol....i am not one :rotfl::rotfl:she clearly didn't like being told a few home truths huh)

Anyway I am going to see my dad this weekend, and tbh it will be a nice break i think, i've had a constant headache since this backstabbing & namecalling all started! And now that dad isn't going to the funeral nor my aunt (2-that was sent nasty message) I feel like sacking it off too tbh! It won't be a good day in many respects!

Anyway very sorry for filling my diary with my family woes, have no friends around at the mo, all are busy with hubby's back from afghan or away with family :(! So you lot are my only shoulder (very sorry)

On a money note. I had a NSD :) will update sig to reflect this in a mo

I've watered the whole garden too it was really really dry we've not had any good decent rain for weeks and weeks now, poor grass looks like hay! And my strawberries will suffer-can't be having that now lol! There are literally scores of strawberries this year :j really looking forward to a nice bumper season of them! The plant has grown triple what it was last yr!

And my rose bush is huge too :D can't wait to see all the little red roses on there :T

Oh and a case of wine turned up today :j:beer::j so we have one very happy DFW here tonight :) wasn't going to drink so i didn't feel rough tomorrow but it'd be rude not to really with 12 bottles in the house ;) and i've put 2 aside to take to dad's house so he doesn't think we are rude guests and turn up and eat all the food, trash the house & then leave (at least i can pacify with a few bottles....cos we will, no doubt be doing that :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
