Had some not so good news yesterday, regarding my grandma, she's been rushed to hospital, has pnemonia, a collapsed lung & her heart is not working properly :( think it's a waiting game now to see how long she lasts poor thing. She's always been a heavy smoker and we warned her this type of thing would happen. Absolutely gut wrenching when it actually does happen though. I kind of hope she will pass quickly as she is in so much pain and in and out of consciousness at the moment. Awful :( realy feel for my dad, he only lost his dad to cancer a few years ago, and then his brother & now his mum :(

I'm going out today for a catch up with a good friend and to hopefully take my mind off everything, just hoping I don't spend too much as we are going into town sans kids!

NSD so far though, does it count that i got to lunch time and have been out 2x and not spent anything ??? No didn't think so!

I hope everyone is well, and enjoying the lovely weather we have

  • Thanks ABBA :) latest update is there is no change, not sure if this is a good thing or not? But maybe it will give the medication time to kick in now for the pnemonia & other bits and bobs wrong with her, not sure how her heart is though, i think she is still on a life support machine :(

  • Have been shopping today & DH has bought the kids a trampoline :) I spent £60+ (not sure on exact will have to check) in tesco ....wouldn't mind but only food we got was strawberries, prawns, chicken & butter & milk ????!!!! The rest of it was made up on loo rolls, oven cleaner, clothes conditioner, dishwasher tablets & some other cleaning bits (that all typically ran out at the same time?!)

I think I am going to have to either reconsider the food budget or reign in on spending somewhere? I can't think where I am specifically going wrong with the food shop, i see so many others doing so well on a smaller budget than me with more kids or adults in the house and wonder why we haven't yet cracked it?! I buy own brands where ever i can, and always always buy the cheapest on offer things?! Hmmmm, anyone with any advice ?? I clearly need some!

Will try and catch up on everyone's diaries tonight, I have spent the last 24 hours worrying about nan, but I guess i have to just carry on and what will be will be - i hope that doesn't sound nasty, but can't see any other way of looking at it, otherwise i could spend the next goodness knows how long worrying and not getting anything d0ne :/

Well today would have been a NSD but last night I decided to dye my hair and f*cked it up! I'm now an orange/carrot top (not a nice one though) and have all sorts of colours going on, so had to go out today and buy hair dye in the hope I can fix it!!! I have a friend coming over to help, she's not a hairdresser but she does do her own hair from home all the time, and sounded more knowledgable then me when I was practically crying/laughing hysterically down the phone to her this morning! That will teach me for trying to do something without the help of professionals to save money!

Other than hair dye haven't spent any money, and so long as the hair dye works tonight I won't have to waste any more money on more! Thank God for Boots, buy 3 for the price of 2!!!

I'm off to my mum's on Sunday, she is going to have the kids for DH & I until Tuesday/Wed morning, so we can have some lay ins, eat pizza, be lazy & do nothing! We had planned originally on going up London for a few days, seeing the sights (again, we are from london anyway lol) and catching a show....but not enough money in the budget really as I want to start putting money aside for our 'emergency' fund now, in case of broken down car (nearly there already) or hoovers (also nearly broken grrrrrr)

So tomorrow (if my hair is ok) i am hoping to take the kids to the zoo, or toy library -both free! would like to save a bit of money so we can perhaps get ourselves a take out when kids aren't here next week! I have free cinema tickets too so we can get a free night out there ;)

  • Friday the 13th (ooooooooooh scary)

Well today, I was going to go to the zoo, BUT I have the hangover from hell so am staying put all day!! My friend came over last night to help me do my hair and YEYEYEYEY (That is a happy dance, and a yey! lol) it's not orange anymore!!!! WOHOO

DH went out and bought us a couple of bottles of wine, then he disappeared upstairs to play on DS1's x-box so my friend & I drank both bottles & omg do I feel rough now, and then DH had the cheek to leave me whilst I was being sick last night and b*gger off to the couch, pffft! I'll remember that one next time he is hungover! So he's up this morning with the kids & took them off to the zoo by himself, I think he thought it would annoy me, but in fact i'm grateful for the peace :p ...i'll let him think that he got one over on me though when he comes home, and you never know he might take them out alone more often ;)

So i'm going to claim today as a NSD as i am not moving from my couch! And DH kindly left his duvet down here ;) so all the more comfy for me haha!

    Have a great friday everyone!

That sounds lovely. Would love OH to take all of the kids out for the day without me. Doubt it will happen any time soon but we can hope! Payday today so I have taken out my money to go into my envelopes so will see how we get on with this. Wondering what i have missed as i actually have money left this month providing i stick to my budget!

Anyway i hope you have a restful day and the hangover disapears soon!
